Christianity vs Religion John 3:16, 3:18 and 14:
OLDBIKER
There are many "religions" in the world today. The problem is that not all religions are Christian. This message is not to offend anyone's religion but, I wish to comment on some of these and remember This site is CHRISTIAN CHURCH 24/7 MINISTRY.
Religion is defined as a belief in a super human power which involves obedience, reverence and worship. There are 4 top religions in the world today Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism.
The scary part of the term "Christianity" is that some cults that call themselves "Christian" are included in this class called "Christian".
Basically, there are about 40 religions in the word today of which I will comment on 4 of these.
I. Buddhism
Buddhism was founded about 2500 years ago in India then spread to the Far East countries. Many of the Oriental countries are Buddhist. It was basically founded by Saddharta Gautama who was a rich prince but, was touched by the suffering of poor people and those who suffered in life. He left his royal position, became a Monk and spent his life in meditation and Enlightenment. He was called Buddha because he was the "enlightened one". He began to teach his ways of enlightenment and meditation to other monks,
Buddhists do not believe that the world was created by God nor is it ruled by God. The main purpose of Buddhism is to end suffering. Buddha taught that mankind suffers because we strive to achieve things that do not bring happiness in life. Buddhists basically believe that after death, they are born into another body which is called "Transmigration". The ultimate goal of Buddhists are to achieve "Nirvana" which is to stop the cycle of rebirth into a world of suffering, where there is no thirst, no suffering. When Buddha was asked as to whether it was like "Heaven" as Christian's believe, he said 4 words, incomprehensible", indescribable,
inconceivable, and in-utterable".
II. Christian Science:
It was founded by Mary Baker Eddy in 1879.
It calls itself a Christian based faith on healing through prayer and the recognition of the non-existance of matter and illness. From what I understand, they believe in God, Jesus, the Resurrection but, that creation is merely spiritual and perfect and matter does not exist. For instance, they believe that death, sin, sickness do not really exist, we just think they do. They see these as the only reality of sin, sickness, and death are unrealities to humans erring belief and, until God strips off the their disguises, mankind will continue to believe in these things. They refer to God as "Father/Mother. They teach that Jesus is Divine but, not God. They deny the Holy Trinity, they believe that Heaven and Hell are states of the mind, not a locality of the soul.
III, Jehovah Witness--founded in 1879 by Charles Taze Russell
They first taught and believed that the second coming of Christ would be in 1914,
They believe that Hell fire does not exist.
They believe that God is not a Trinity
They also have beliefs about society and about government.
a. They do not believe in blood transfusions
b. They will not vote
c. They will not serve in the military
d. They reject the symbol of the Cross
e. They do not celebrate Christian Holidays
f. They have their own Bible now called the New Word Translation
g. They believe that the wicked are just annialated and cease to exist
h. They believe the soul/body stays in the grave until the last resurrection of the dead
My sister became a Jehovah"s Witness, she basically divorced herself from all her brother and sisters and told us "I have no family, brothers or sisters except my "church family".
IV, Christianity--founded by Jesus of Nazareth
a. Christians believe in Creation as stated in Genesis 1-1
b. Christians believe in the fall of man due to Adam's sin in Genesis 3
c. Christians believe that in God's time, He sent His Son, Jesus of Nazareth as the Saviour of fallen man.
c, Christians believe that through Jesus' atoning sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary, that we can be forgiven.
d. Christians believe in a Eternal Home call Heaven that is prepared for those born into God's family.
e. Christians believe in a Eternal Home of the lost called Hell where the Devil, The Beast, and False Prophet will spend Eternity after the Last Judgment.
f. Most Christians believe in the Pre-millenial return of Christ for His Bride--The Church (All saved-dead or alive) as stated in 1 Thess. 4-13-19.
There is a difference in what you believe!
There is a difference in what you believe in!
There is a difference in who you believe on!
You can modernize it, analyze it, desensitize it, try to revise it, and rationalize it but, man can never change it, Jesus words are STILL true.
A. John 3:16--- "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish but, have everlasting life."
B. John 3: 18---" He that believeth on Him(Jesus) is not condemned but, he that believeth not, is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
C. John 14:6--"I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
The World is full of "RELIGIONS" but religions will not save you from God's Judgment not will the give you Eternal Life with God.
Man is a lonely sinner, Christ is the only Saviour.
Many Pastors and preachers have fallen into the lull of just letting everyone believe and think as they want and God will decide what to do when the time comes. Many preachers today no longer preach Salvation messages, many churches not longer have invitations for salvation (altar calls). There are churches today, who have not had anyone saved in their services, for 30 or 40 years. I am bold enough and care enough, to tell the people the truth. If they leave my services unsaved, they have no excuse because they hear Salvation's Plan every Sunday. I believe that is what we as Pastors and Preachers are supposed to be doing.
There is a difference between "A Calling and A Vocation".

good message Oldbiker, it is helpful for us as carriers of the good news to know what the other religions of the world believe so we can be ready to give an account for our faith with background knowledge of what someone else might believe and be clinging to for their hope for salvation. armed with this knowledge we can be more effective in spreading the gospel (good news) again thanks for all you do for us.
IT IS A FREE GIFT FROM GOD WHO LOVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON NAME JESUS WE WILL BE SAVE THROUGH HIM ( JESUS ) HAVE AN ETERNAL LIFE. WE CAN ALSO HAVE LOVE JOY AND PEACE WITH GOD DAILY.
There is a difference between "A Calling and A Vocation". IT IS VERY TRUE. THANK YOU LORD FOR CHOSEN OLD BIKER TO SERVE YOU FOR YOUR GLORY IN JESUS NAME. AMEN.
