Moses spent nearly 40 years giving advice, instruction, warnings, and direction to the Children of Israel. In that period, he had to deal with a lot of complaining, issues and whining. Parents and Grand=parents, have you ever got tired of your kids or grand-kids complaining and whining?

Being a Pastor and Minister now for 35 years, I have heard my share of whining, and complaining as well. In our text today, Moses is nearing the end of his life and he tells the Children of Israel to make a choice. Chose life or choose death.

If you stop and think for a minute, we all must still make this choice today. Contrary to what I heard on the Oprah show and what I have heard from many other denominations over the years, there never was, never is and, never will be more than one way to Heaven.

Jesus said in John 14:6 "I am the Way, the Truth and, The life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me"! Rejecting Jesus, is choosing death, hopelessness and, hell. Accepting Jesus is choosing life, happiness and, Heaven.

Here are the three Children that are born when choosing Life

1. Life gives birth to LOVE vs-20
I have said many times over the years, that you really don't understand nor comprehend what true love is until you know the Love of God.
Romans 5:8 says that 'God loves us while we are yet sinners.
1 John 4:10 says that God loves us in spite of our sins. "Herein is love, not that we loved God but, that He loved us and sent His Son as a propitiation for our sins"
Propitiation means "accepted satisfaction or appeasement"
Salvation is the result of coming to Christ in faith for the forgiveness of sin and receiving the gift of Eternal Life, that He has promised when we believe on Him and accept His atoning sacrifice for our sins. Because of God's love for us, He enables us to love others more deeply.
We cannot love others like we should unless we know God's love for us. Husband and wives cannot love each other, as they should, unless they know of God's love for them, etc. etc.

2. Love gives birth to OBEDIENCE: (vs-20)

"that they may obey His voice" You really can't obey God unless you are one of His children because you do not respect or accept His authority in your life.
Point: We are not all God's children. Many times you hear people say, "we are all God's children"! Better read the Scriptures. In John 8:44, Jesus call the Pharisees "the children of the Devil"! (Religionists of their day!)
You don't become a Child of God until you are "born" into His family. Remember John 3:3, Jesus said "you must be born again"! John 1:12 says "but as many as RECEIVED HIM" (Jesus) to them gave he power to become the sons of God even to them that believe on His name. There is a difference between BELIEVING IN AND BELIEVING ON JESUS!!!!!! The Demons in hell believe IN Jesus, they know who He is but, they never believed ON Him. Desiring to do God's will is one of the first signs of being a child of God. Jesus said "My sheep hear my voice and I know then and they follow me" John 10:27
Question" Do you love God and want to do His will? You should. You see, we are saved by Grace but, we are blessed by Obedience.

3. Obedience gives birth to OPPORTUNITY! (vs-20)
"that thou may cleaveth to Him"
Obeying Christ helps us stay close to Him.
Obedience brings blessings, joy, and peace in a person's soul. We are saved to serve not saved to sit. If Jesus Apostles had only just been saved, and done nothing after their salvation, where would Christianity be today? Where would you be today? Also, in this verse, Moses talks about the Children of Israel's future "that thou may dwellest in the land." God made promises to Abraham and God makes promises to us today. God's promises, God's blessings and God's plans for us come alive in us when we obey Him.

Love births OBEDIENCE
Obedience births OPPORTUNITY
