At What Price--Freedom Acts 22: 25-28
OLDBIKER
We are soon coming upon July 4th, often called Independence Day. Some people think this was declared after the War but, it was actually a Declaration of War.
Of the 56 men who signed the Declaration, many of them paid a terrible price for their bravery. Some were captured and killed by the British, some had their homes destroyed, their families scattered. Some lost their businesses and died as paupers and bankrupt.
Just as these men defied the King of England, who tried to hold these colonists in slavery and bondage, 234 years ago, Christ opposed Satan for our freedom.
When a person gets saved, it's basically a declaration of war. A spiritual warfare begins within us as the Apostle Paul stated in his writings. Jesus even predicted that we would have war in our own families. Examples: A person in a family gets saved and the family turns against them. This can be for different reasons.
They get mad because they left "The Church" or the "Denomination or the lost people of a family may heckle and torment you for "Getting Religion" as they often call it. One thing you can be sure of, Satan will not let you rest if you are his enemy.
The world today is slowly transitioning to the mindset that all Christians are intolerant, one track minded, mentally sick or deranged or a menace to society as a whole. People refuse to believe the Bible, they refuse to believe in the god of the Scriptures, they refuse to believe in Heaven or Hell and there are more professing agnostics and atheists now than there has ever been in modern history. When I was a kid, the church was the social hub of the community dedicated to winning souls for Christ. Now they have regressed to social clubs for a sanctified few or an entertainment center for feel good music and messages. Hey, cows like music. They give more milk. Sheep like music, this is why a lot of the ancient shepherds played harps or flutes for the flocks. It calmed them but, they were still sheep.
Salvation is a Declaration of Separation as well: The colonists refused to be controlled by the British and we also refuse to be under Satan's control and influence, when we get saved. We strive to live according to God's laws and Christ's teachings and not from our own feelings and lusts of the flesh. These colonists had to take a stand and we as Christians must do the same. We need to be involved in our community, towns, and cities. We need to pray, read our Bibles so we can grow spiritually stronger and speak up when we need to speak up.
Salvation is a Declaration of Sacrifice. Jesus sacrificed Himself for you and for me. Our soldiers of America have fought all over this world to promote and provide freedom. We fought in the Revolutionary War, Civil War, WW1, WW2. Korea, Vietnam, Grenada, Desert Storm, Iraq and now Afghanistan, just to name a few. Freedom is never free--someone made a sacrifice, someone paid the price of freedom/ Jesus paid your price and became the sacrifice that you can be free from Satan's bondage and destruction.
America is still the greatest nation on earth and I am proud to be an American. I am proud of those who have served and sacrificed time. blood and their lives for the freedom that we have today. America's foundations however, are beginning to crack and crumble. Societies come and go. Nations rise and fall but, God's word remaineth forever and is forever true. Thank God for America and Thank God for Jesus who truly does Make us Free. "If the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed" John 8:36. God Bless America!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May this message be a Blessing.
