A Walking Tree
Most of us have seen cartoons or movies where someone"s in a tree or that the tree is walking and sneaking up on someone. Remember a few weeks ago in one of my messages, I said that camoflauge was not new--Adam and Eve used fig leaves and hid themselves in the tress of the Garden Gen. 3: 7-8?
In our test today Solomon says that "The fruit of the righteous is the Tree of Life".
Let's look a moment at this "Tree of Life". What was the most important tree in the Garden of Eden?
We see 2 tress mentioned in Gen. 2: 16-17 A. The tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil. B. The Tree of Life-Gen. 3:22-24. Now go to Revelation Chpt 22:2. The Tree of life is mentioned in Heaven. Is is possible that God moved this tree to Heaven when he closed the Garden of Eden after the fall of mankind? I think it very true.
In our second text verse, Mark 8:24 a blind man had been brought to Jesus and Jesus healed him. When Jesus asked him what he saw, he said "I see men as trees, walking".
Truth is folks, There are Walking Tress of Life, all over this world today. As Christians, we are to be Walking Trees of Life by winning souls to Christ. Question is, Are you a Walking Tree.
1. We are to win children to Christ:
Why do we have Bible School? Why do we have Children's church or "Little People's Church" as some call it? We do it to reach the little children for Christ. Jesus loved little children. Matt. 18: 1-6, Jesus taught that unless we become converted by child like Faith, we cannot enter the Kingdom of God. In Mark 10:13-16, Jesus rebuked His disciples for trying to prevent the little children to come to Jesus. We must also learn this as well. When we reach children for Christ, we often reach there parents as well. I have seen this happen time and time again in my 35 years in the Ministry.
2. We are to win Adults to Christ:
Adults come with a lot of baggage sometimes. They have issues of broken marriages, relationships, maybe drug or alcohol abuse. The often come with smiles on their faces but, tears in their hearts. They often come with a bragging attitude when really, this is a front for the insecurities they have inside. Jesus reached out to all kinds of people, in all walks of life.
A. The Samaritan Woman at the well who knew of the Messiah but did not know Him
B, Zacchaes who was rich but, lost.
C. Nicodemus who was religious but, lost
D, Saul of Tarsus who was rich, religious and, popular but, was lost.
We must look beyond the surface and see their suffering. We must sense their sadness and offer them joy and hope.
3. We must win those who are close to Eternity:
Life is so short when you look at it compared to Eternity. James calls it "just a vapor".
We must win those who are dying. They may never have another chance.
I was asked to go to a hospital about 80 miles from where I live and find a woman I did not know. She had terminal cancer and her sister wanted me to talk to her about the Lord. I drove to the hospital and asked for this lady by name. I went into her room and I was not prepared for what I saw.
I introduced myself and we chatted for a few minutes and I asked "Debbie" if she was a Christian. She said "no". I began to tell her how Jesus loved her and how He gave His live for her on the Cross. I went through the plan of salvation with her and I asked her if she would like to Accept Christ as her Saviour. She said, "Yes". I prayed with her and she prayed with me and she Accepted Christ. Tears ran down her face and she said, "they told me you would come", referring to her family. I told her I would be praying for her and I left. Debbie died 4-1/2 hours after I left the hospital. She had 4-1/2 hours to accept Christ!!!!!!!
I am on the rough edge of "Professional Preachers" as we see them today; I do not look like a "Ken" doll all nice, neat, and pressed like a lot of the TV Preachers look today. I am what I am, just like Apostle Paul says., "I am made all things to all men that I might win some." 1 Cor. 9:22
I am not perfect and I am not always on the mountain top either, every day. I do know this, trees grow better and stronger in the valleys than they do on the mountain tops.
Are you a Walking Tree of Life, offering the gift of Eternal life to others who pass your way and need Christ? I hope you are.
May this message bless those who read it.

You made me think of a song we used to sing. He's the God of the goodtimes, he's the God of the bad times, he's the God of day He's the God of the night. In this song He is also the God of the mountain when things go right but he also the God of the valley. getting old don't hear this song much anymore. To me you wld be a easy preacher/pastor to accept, than one who is spit shined, you have been there and done that. I thank you for all you do for us and yes sir your a great preacher, as I have been told If your preacher don't step on your toes, he isn't doing his job. You got all ten today, as I am taking my salvation much to lightly, I shld be giving also. I pray that the Lord will help me be a testimony for him, so others will want to be saved. Thank you....
