Have you ever had someone make you a promise? Have you ever had a promise broken? I am sure you have. Here are some promises that will not be broken,
1, The Promise of His coming:
If you look at the Old Testament, it is full of the promises of His coming. It is mentioned approx. 300 times in the New Testament. Christ said He will return in John 14: 1-3 The Apostle Paul stated that He will return in 1 Thess. 4: 13-18 The angels said He will return in Acts 1:11.
2. The Process of His coming:
It will be personal. 1 Thess. 4: 16. It will be visible Acts. 1:11 Rev. 1:7. It will be sudden Matt. 24: 44, it will be mysterious 2nd Peter 3:10 and it will be triumphant Matt. 23:30
3. The Purpose of His Coming:
A. Christ will raise the dead and transform the living. 1 Cor. 15: 52-54
B. Christ's Judgment will be exercised on those left behind.
4. The Preparation of His coming:
The saved are to be alert, looking up, watching witnessing, working and waiting.
The unsaved need to recognize that they are lost and with out hope. They need to respond to His invitation to be saved. They need to understand and rest in God's promise to save them.
The World today is having so much fun going to Hell, that they will be there before they know it.
Jesus is coming in two separate events. He will come for His Bride (the church), in what we refer to as the Rapture--saved people living and dead, to go to Heaven with Him for the Marriage Feast of the Lamb.
He will return again 7 years later with the Church and set His earthly Throne up in Jerusalem, the throne of David, and He will rule and reign for a thousand years.
Point is, are you ready for His coming? The signs of the times are everywhere. All the prophecies concerning His return have been fulfilled. Gabriel is polishing his trumpet and we are nearing the greatest Homecoming in the History of the World.
