A christian Watchman Ezekiel 3 vs 17
OLDBIKER
During this time of year, we are nearing Memorial Day and every day on TV, we hear about our brave women and men who are serving in our Military in areas like Afghanistan and previously Iraq. We have many of our military on watch duty in areas all over the world.
Today, I wish to call your attention to something we as Christian must do. Our text refers to the Israelites who had been taken captive and exiled in Babylon. God placed Ezekiel in charge of a spiritual "watch station" or a spiritual "radar station" so that they would not be corrupted by pagan beliefs while they were in exile.
We as Christians today, are to be witnesses and watchmen to be soul winners. We are to watch for the lost of this world and to win them to Christ before it is eternally too late. Here are some things we as Christian Watchmen must do.
I. We must Watch:
We must be observant to see lost people as they are.
a. They are unsaved.
b. They are spiritually dead.
c. They are headed for destruction, despair and eternal damnation yet, they are still objects of God's love and
and concern. "God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance"
II. We must be Listeners:
We must listen for the Holy Spirit to lead us to these lost people
We must listen for Him to tell us what to say and when to say it.
We must listen to these lost people, when they ask or inquire about eternity, salvation, etc/
III. We must be Speakers:
We can speak with out mouths but moreso, we can speak by how we live.
People do not read the Bible but, they read the Christian every day.
We can speak by the deeds of love and mercy that we show others.
We can speak by our loyalty to our church that we attend.
People of the world may not know much about you but, those closest to you will know if you attend church and when you attend. As I said, they read you everyday, including Sunday.
All the above are good but, we must tell others about the love and forgiveness of Jesus.
There is an old Hymn that has some wonderful words in it.
It says:
"No-one ever cared for me, like Jesus.
There's no other friend as kind as He
No-one else could take the sin and darkness from me
Oh, how much he cares for me"
We are to tell others of Jesus. God has no other avenue of reaching the lost of this world. God sent His son to us and He now sends us, to proclaim His love, His mercy, His compassion, His grace and His salvation to all, who will believe.
If you had to give an account of how good you were at your post as a Watchman for Christ, how would you measure up? We must keep teaching and reaching the lost of this world. God has no other plan to do so.
Have a wonderful and blessed week.
