7 Things God Hates Proverbs 6: 16-19
OLDBIKER
Some people use the little four lettered word "hate" loosely. When we were kids, we would get mad at a playmate or a sibling and say, " I hate you!"
God have been pictured, by many, to be a hateful and revengeful God that is just waiting for you and I to mess up so he can get His righteous ballbat and beat us up with it. Many have a conception of God, as an old white haired man, setting in the clouds somewhere, who has lost touch with the world and mankind as a whole. Both of these conceptions are wrong.
God's love for us is beyond our human understanding:
God loves lost sinners Rom. 5:8 God showed His love in John 3:16 and God proved His love by sending Jesus to die for us in the cross 1 John 4:10.
What is true about God is this, He hates things that bring his children pain.
Here are 7 pain producers that God hates:
1. God hates A Proud Look:--vs 17
Pride caused Lucifer to fall from Heaven--Isaiah 14: 12-15 Ezekiel 28: 11-17.
Pride always precedes a fall.Prov. 16:18
Pride is what hindered the Scribes and Pharisees in Christ's day and Pride will hinder us from God's blessings in our lives today.
2. A Lying Tongue:--vs-17
In Exodus, Chpt. 20, One of the 10 commandments is "Thou shalt not bear false witness.
Lying started in the Garden of Eden. God told Eve that if she ate of the forbidden tree, "thou shalt surely die". Satan came along and said "thou shalt not surely die". Gen. Chpt. 3. Who told the lie?
Jesus called Satan the Father of Lies in John 8:44. God expects us to be honest and truthful in all that we say and do. Many men have been killed or convicted because of a false witness. Jesus had false witnesses at His trial. Paul had false witness at some of his hearings, before governors, etc. It's a shame today that no longer does a person have to "swear to tell the truth, so help me God" in our courtrooms in this nation any more.
3. Hands that shed innocent blood:--vs 17
A. God dealt with this early in Genesis Chpt 4 when Cain killed his twin brother Abel. Abel did nothing to deserve death yet, his own brother killed him out of jealousy and rage.
Another one of the 10 commandments is "Thou shalt not kill". Exodus 20.
Just in case some of you might be confused, God is Pro-life. Abortion is murder. You don't have to accept this from me or even believe it. Take it up with God at His appointed time. Don't think for a minute that God is not going to deal with the Abortionist Drs. that take innocent baby's lives! Don't think for a minute that God is not going to deal with the Pedophiles of society and those that abuse innocent little children!!!!!!!!! OH YES HE WILL!!!!!!
4. A Heart that devises evil imaginations:--vs-18
Our heart is the center of evil Jeremiah says in Jeremiah 17:9
Our hearts are deceitful and desperately wicked. I am not talking about the organ that pumps blood. I am talking about the center of our being, that part that makes us who we are.
Our outward sins and actions come from an inward heart. This is why we have all sinned and come short of the Glory of God. Rom. 3:23
5. Feet that are swift to run to mischief:-- vs-18
We seem to run to get into trouble at times. Remember our feet follow or heart in many instances. The Bible says we are to hide God's words in our hearts, that we might not sin against God. Our heart tells our feet where to go.
I have a saying written in the front pages of my Bible. "This book will keep you out of sin or, sin will keep you out of this book"!!!!!
6. A Lying Witness: vs-19
Our highest calling is to be a witness for Christ. Acts. 1:8
a. Tongues are to be used for spreading the Truth and telling the truth.
b. People need to hear the Gospel message
c. People need to see the Gospel message. An old preacher was quoted once as saying " I'd rather see a message than here one, any day"!
If we aren't living a Christian lifestyle, what kind of a "lying witness are we?"
7. A sower if discord among the Brethren: vs-19
A. We are to be united in love
b. Unity is one of the reasons for the great power of the early church Acts' 1:14 Chpt 2:1
Whiners, complainers, backbiters, gossipers and sneak around whisperers, "join my clique", church members, displease God!!!!!!!!
1 Confession brings cleansing
2.Things that God hates can be forgiven but, must be acknowledged first.
3. God grace can help you and sustain you, no matter what is going on around you.
A lying tongue, A false Witness, A Sower of Discord Among the Brethren can destroy a person's life, their family and, a Church!!!!
Question: Are you guilty of one or more of these things?
God can and will forgive any and all of these. We must first acknowledge that we are guilty, repent for our actions and, ask for God's forgiveness and cleansing. God's word says "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and Just, to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness.
May God add His blessings to this message.

God is gracious to be there when we reach out to Him with a broken and contrite heart.
