I thought of the little song "He's still working on me" In that first part of that song, it says 'He's still working on me, to make me what I ought to be". Here are 6 things He wants us to BE.
1. He wants us to BE saved;
John 3-17 states " For God sent not His son into the world to condemn the world: but that the world through Him might be saved." There is nothing more important in this world than to be saved. There are other scriptures that state the same thing. John 10:9, Romans 10:9 and 13
2, He wants us to BE Steadfast:
I Cor. 15:58 says: "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. In Acts 2 vs 41 and 52, the new Christians were taught to be steadfast in the doctrines, fellowship and prayers.
There was a story told years ago about a little boy, standing and holding his horse by a lead line. This horse was rather pitiful looking and was so sway backed, that he looked like a tree had fell across his back. A gentleman walked up to the little boy and asked "is your horse a pulling horse, does he pull fast? The little boy said, "no sir, he does pull fast". The man then asked "well, is he a race horse, does he run fast"? The little boy said "no sir, he does not run fast." The man said "well, if he doesn't pull fast or run fast, what can he do"? The little boy thought for a moment then he said "He sure can standfast"! We need to standfast and be steadfast in our convictions for Christ.
3. He was us to BE separated:
II Cor. 6 vs 17 says "Wherefore, come out from among them and be ye separate says the Lord.........
We as Christians must not get involved in the sin and recklessness of this world. We are to be examples to others in word and in deed. The problem is, we are failing in this statue today.
It's like the old saying. "When you have the boat in the water, there isn't a problem but, when you get water in the boat, you've got a real problem. Too many churches today have so much of the world in them, you can't hardly tell them from a social club or a rock concert.
4. He was us to BE witnessing:
Acts Chpt 1 vs 8 says "But ye sahll receive power, after the Holy Ghost is come upon you and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth. It is our responsibility, as Christians, to be telling others about Jesus and His salvation. Some people think that this is the Pastor's job. It is his job but, no Pastor can do it all. One of the greatest experiences in life, is to lead someone to Christ.
5. He wants us to BE ready:
Matt. 24:44 says "Therefore, be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of man, cometh",
We should be ready for the Lord's return at any time. The signs and prophecies are coming true every day.
6. We should BE Spirit filled:
Ephesians 5: 18 says "And be not drunk with wine, wherein is access, but be filled with the Spirit.
I not talking about acting like a drunk man, babbling around and falling down and flopping like a chicken with its head cut off. I am talking about being led of the Spirit in your walk with the Lord, Having His Spirit lead you and guide you in understanding His word, witnessing and winning others to Christ and being the Christian witness to others, not in words but, it thought and deed. "Let your light so shine before men, that they might see your good works and, glorify your Father in Heaven". Matt 5: 16.
Let all of us to our best to BE what God wants us to BE.
Have a wonderful and blessed week.

THANK YOU PEEWEE FOR A WONDERUL MESSAGE.
IN HIS LOVE....JULIE.
when i think of the verse where it talks about not being drunk with wine, i think of what happens when someone drinks so much that they are 'filled' with wine or any type of alcohol. they take so much of that substance in that the substance controls their actions. it controls their speech (slurring), it controls how they move (stumbling), it controls their thinking and everything about them, the substance quite literally takes over the person's life.
then i think of what God is saying here, just like some people are so filled with wine that it is obvious that they are controlled by it, be so filled with the Holy Spirit that you are controlled by Him and it is obvious to others that you are. wine and the like will make you look stupid, but the Holy Spirit's control of you will make you look like Him because you will act like Him because you are led by Him.
Great Message!
