6 Reasons to be Saved John 3 vs-18
OLDBIKER
"He that believeth on Him(Jesus) is not condemned but, he that believeth not, is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
Many people today can quote John 3:16. This verse is one of the first verses in the Bible that many young people learn in early childhood in church. We accept this as being wonderful and it is but, many do not read further nor do they wish to memorize verse 18.
Here are 6 reason to be saved:
1. Because you are lost:
Every person who is not saved, is lost. The most important thing is to realize your lost condition. You can not be saved until you realize and admit that you are lost. People want to put off salvation for some other time. King Agrippa said, "almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian". Acts 26 vs 28. "Almost is still L-O-S-T!!!!!
2. Because you may have a Serious accident or illness:
We do not know what tomorrow holds. We do not know our future as far as our life or our health is concerned. People get sick every day. People have serious accidents every day, some of these may be life changing and heart rendering. Everyone wants to think or believe that these things always happen to "other people",
3. Because you may Die today:
We do not know when our passing from this life will be. David said in 1 Samuel 20 vs-3 "There is but a step between me and death"...James wrote "What is your life, but a vapor, that appeareth for a little time thenm quickly vanisheth away:" We are not guaranteed a tomorrow.
4. Because you may go to Hell today:
Luke 16 vs 22-23 tells of the rich man who died and immediately after death, went to hell. Jesus told this story. He had his entire faciliies. He could speak, he could hear, he could remember and he could feel He asked for water, He said he was tormented in the flame. He asked that his brother be told not to come there. He was aware of his surroundings. He was also told there was no escape. He was told there was a "great gulf fixed between them. He could not come out and Lazarus could not come down to where the rich man was. Think of it. There, in torment for ever and ever and ever......................
5. Because Christ could come today:
The Bible says that Christ will come like a thief in the night. Jesus told us in Matt. 24 vs 44. "Therefore, be ye also ready for in such an hour that ye thinketh not, the Son of man, cometh." You will be left behind to face the horrors and the holocaust of millions of people during the Great Tribulation that is to come upon this earth.. It will be so terrible that the Bible says, that unless the days be shortened, flesh can not survive. I would not want to be here, during this time.
6. Because God wants you to be saved:
The Bible says that 'God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come unto repentance." 2 Peter 3 vs-9.
God has done all He can do to save sinful mankind. He sent His son Jesus, to become the ultimate and surpreme sacrifice, for the atonement for the sins of mankind. Man can not save himself. He can't be righteous enough, he can not give enough, he can not be good enough, and he can not atone for his own sins. This, Jesus did, once for all, on the Cross at Calvary.
We are saved when we admit we are lost, repent of our sins, ask forgiveness for our sins and place our faith and trust in Jesus' finished work on the cross for us.
Mankind has tried to save himself for years and has failed every time. He could not even keep 10 commandments that God gave.
We are siners, because the Bible says that "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3 vs 23. Because of sin, there is a penalty to be paid. That penalty is death. "The wages of Sin is death". Romans 6:23. I glad that verse does not stop with the word "death". There is a little 3 letter word there called "But". It says "But, the gift of God, is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord". Eternal life is a "gift".
The Bible goes on to say that "if thou will confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and, believe in thine heart, that God has raised Him for the dead, thou shalt be saved!!!!!!!! Romans 10 vs-9
Then comes the Promise, "For WHOSOEVER'', shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved". Romans 10 vs-13.
Salvation is the greatest "gift" ever given to mankind. This gift was purchased "for us" by "Him" (Jesus).
