3 Arks of God Gen. 7 vs 1-7 and vs 16
OLDBIKER
Most of us today remember Noah's ark from being taught about this when we were kids in Sunday School. This story has much to offer us if we understand it and with this in mind today, I wish to compare this story with 2 other Arks of God's word.
A. Noah's Ark:
For the sake of room, I will not type out the above scripture but., This speaks of God telling Noah that because of the wickedness of man, He was going to destroy everything upon the Earth. God told Noah to build an Ark. He told him how to build it and what to take inside it before the flood came. This ark was an enormous boat. It was 525 ft. long, 82 ft wide and 52 ft. high. This is based on what kind of measurement you use as a cubit vs today's measurement. There were different measurements for cubits in the Bible. Scientists have said volume wise, it would hold as much as 52 rail road cars and they have also determined that it could hold 2 of every specie known to man today, in just 1/2 of it's cargo area.
B. The Ark of the Covenant: Exodus Chpt. 25.
This ark was a large box that God had told Moses to build. It was overlaid with Gold. It also had things that God told them to place in it.
a. Aaron's rod
b. The tablets of stone
c. The manna Pot
This Ark was to be a symbol of God's presence and God's provision for His people. If you go to the book of Joshua Chpt. 2 vs 14-17, you will find that the priests had to take a step of faith by walking into the flooded water of the Jordan River. Common sense would have said, you will drown. Yet, they did as God commanded and walked through on dry land. Common sense in Noah's time would have said, building a boat is nuts, it has never rained, and we have never seen a flood before.
I wish to show some comparisons here between these 2 Arks, before I mention the last one
I. Noah's ark was an Avenue of Escape from the flood: God's Judgment--Vs 5
a. wickedness of man in Noah's time.
b. Wicked in their thoughts.
c. corrupt in their moral dealings and actions
d. Wicked in their dealings with others.
Does this sound familiar? It should!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Point: God always judges sin/wickedness vs-7
1 Destruction and judgment is planned
2. The wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23). Still true today
I want you to look at something very significant in Chpt. 6 vs-8
"But Noah found GRACE in the eyes of the Lord.
Did you know that this is the first tine the word GRACE is found in the Bible.
GRACE is God's Unmerited Favor.
A. judgment was coming from God but GRACE was offered for mankind facing judgment.
GRACE is still offered to mankind facing judgment and destruction.
II. It took a step of Faith for Noah to do what God told him to do: Vs-1.
Notice, Noah was invited to "come into the ark".
a. this took a step of faith
b. the ark was built with faith
c. now, he must trust the ark by faith.
Notice, He had to enter in to be saved. Noah's salvation was by GRACE through FAITH.
Notice verse 16 of Chpt. 6. Look at the last 6 words, "And the Lord shit him in"
Point: Noah did not shut the door, God did. What would have happened if God hadn't shut it?
Another thing we must notice here is that it wasn't just Noah, it was his wife, his sons and their wives. Noah's family was saved by his faith and obedience to God. "His whole house was saved"
We can learn a lot from the story of Noah's Ark.
1. Don't miss the boar
2. Plan ahead it wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
3, Stay fit, someone may ask you to do something big in your older years.
4. Don't listen to critics, do what you know God has told you to do.
5. Build your future on "Higher Ground"
6. Remember, the ark was built by an amateur. The Titanic was built by professionals
7. Speed isn't always the answer. the snails rode right along with the cheetas
8. No matter what the storm or the duration, there is always a rainbow waiting.
III. It was the salvation of Noah's entire family:
God wants our families to be saved too. Look at the Phillipian Jailor in Acts Cht 16 vs-31
Paul said Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved and they house" God wants our family circles to be unbroken.
C. Our Ark of Salvation today is Jesus Christ.
He is our Ark of Safety from the coming judgment of God on this world.
He is our Ark of protection from the storms of life that we all go through at one time or another.
He is the Ark of our Salvation when we come to him by FAITH and His GRACE saves us.
By Grace are ye saved through FAITH. it is not of works lest any man should boast. It is a gift of God.
Just as the ark saved Noah, from the great flood, just as the Ark of the Covenant was a symbol of God Presence, Power and Protection of the children of Israel and saved them from the flood waters of the Jordan River, Jesus is our Ark and we are secure in Him regardless of the floods and storms of life.
Is Jesus your Ark today? Are you secure in Him? If not, why not? The judgment of God is coming. Be sure you have the Ark of Salvation, Jesus Christ.
Romans 8 vs 1 says this "There is therefore, NOW, no condemnation to those who are IN Christ Jesus."
When you accept Christ as your Savior. you are safe and secure in him, no matter what the storms are in life.
May God bless this message.

1 The LORD then said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation.
2 Take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and one pair of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate,
3 and also seven pairs of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth.
4 Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made.”
5 And Noah did all that the LORD commanded him.
6 Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters came on the earth.
7 And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives entered the ark to escape the waters of the flood.
16 The animals going in were male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD shut him in.
