Certain times of the year seem to be easier than others in living "childless, not by choice". However, Christmas is really hard for me. I don't even want to put up a tree this year. If I could, I'd love to go on a cruise and miss the whole thing. Just like Christmas with the Kranks. haha Except actually do it. I love my family but I remember the pain of last year and I feel it creeping up again. Ugh. Does anyone else feel this way around Christmas or other holidays?

Hi, I always find Christmas difficult as it is so marketed as a child/family time. I know I am going to find it particularly hard this year as my niece had an IVF baby 2 weeks ago and she will be with all of our family at Christmas. I love them both to bits but it just brings home my IVF failures which also resulted in the breakdown of my relationship. Guess we just have to try extra hard at this time of year. Barbara

That would be hard. I'll say a prayer for you, Barbara. Say a prayer for me? ;) Last year the hardest was Christmas day. My husband isn't the real celebratory type. So we woke up and the whole thing was so anticlimactic. I realize what the meaning of Christmas is all about so I don't want to sound like I am missing the point. Nonetheless, it was a rough day.

I have my husaband and his family his sisters children are older. I'm thankful for that, but it is hard sometimes. I just hate the commercials and since I work in sales people buying their family holiday cheer. I hope you do have somebody special in your life to keep you strong for the holidays.

Christmas was brutal for me this year. . .I waa really in the trenches during the holidays. Somehow with my wonderful husband and a few friends Christmas night, helped to raise my spirits. It's such a hard time of the year, especially when you have no invites for Christmas day.
