I lay in bed, it's 2:36 a.m. I've been laying here trying to fall asleep since 10:30 p.m.
I'm angry, frustrated, and disappointed in myself. Why can I never remain happy and satisfied in a relationship?
I try to do everything right. But then the familiar feeling of wanting out and wanting to escape rears it's ugly head.
Why does this have to be my cross? Why can't I be content? Why do I constantly crave the thrill I get from cheating? WHY.
It's all I can think about. Maybe I'm just not cut out for relationships. I want to provide that stability for my children, but can't seem to get the fuck over myself enough to settle down.
I don't want to break my partners heart. I don't want to uproot myself from our routine, I don't want my children to suffer - yet another- breakup with their father.
Normally I try to be optimistic and positive... But all I can express right now is how terribly helpless and defeated I am. I don't even think advice would be helpful, I've tried time and time again to suppress this urge but it's just IN me. Love that this group is here. There is no where else I could express these feelings where people could understand. Thanks guys.

I get it. I've only ever cheated with 1 person... But I feel like I can't be satisfied without him. Which I don't understand at all. I Have a great husband, a nice house, great friends and two great kids. Everything anybody could want. But that temptation to meet up with my AP hangs over my head all the time.

I was cruising Facebook this morning and I've seen the 100th(ok exaggerating here) picture of some puppies posted by my friend. She is getting a new dog and is in LOVE. I'm sure there will be many more stories and pics as time goes by. I can't help but think that many of us find a way to medicate our lives with something that seems so consuming and delicious that all of the other good stuff in life takes a back seat..(or kicked off the bus all together) and the bad stuff is tolerable because of the LOVE that we are feeling for something. In her case....a new puppy. I too am struggling to get out of an all consuming thrill chase. I have had other good outlets in the past and can't seem to shake this unhealthy one I'm in now. I'm going with Sarah's Dopamine Deal...I think that's a big part of it. We all want a state of bliss.
