I think social media keeps you 'in' it. It keeps the A alive. You read into things, you make inferences. You have to realize that people are only going to post happy things for the most part. There was just a huge study looking at suicide in college age girls who posted themselves smiling and happy and were actually suicidal.

And, personally I'd be freaked out if anyone stalked me as much as I used to stalk OM, but I think we have all done it. When you stop stalking, it really, really, really helps you think clearer and focus on yourself. I'm like a new person.

Lesson learned (for those of us not 'friends').....keep it private. I do now.

I agree with Shore. Social Media keeps things going. I know on Facebook, if you block someone, you cannot see their posts as well as they cannot see yours. Perhaps that is the case with some of the other Social Media venues. It might be worth a try to find out. That way, you won't have to depend on your own strength to stay away from checking people out that are adding to your pain.

I wish exAP would block me. I have no self control and stalk him way more than is healthy. I also doubt he stalks me (even though he did relentlessly when we were in the A) and that makes me feel even worse. If we had this unspoken communication to each other through our social media (like we did during the A) then it would feel almost okay. But now I just feel like a creeper stalking this random guy that has nothing to do with me.

Fuck Affairs. Fuck Facebook.

It has been my experience that if you block someone on Facebook (like my boyfriend and I did with the OW in my case), that one cannot access that profile etc unless they unblock that person.

. You can be blocked but if you know another "friend" you can sneak peaks. Ugh.

Remember the good ol days of stalking?....driving your car around their house 20x turning your head slightly so it didn't look obvious that you were trying to see what was going on in their yard . Wearing a hat, dark sunglasses even though the sun had set. How about the ole telephone calls after digging through the phone book to find a way to block your phone so that they couldn't *69 you back.

It bothers me much less now, but FB was definitely a trigger for me. Seeing OM's profile as well as his ex GF's profile (especially when she would call him "her bestie", yuck), was difficult so I unfollowed both. Of course now that I ended things with OM, he is "liking" practically everything I post. So weird. I am caring less & less all the time.

She know just how to word it to make me crazy. "My love" "our son"
But...I think its interesting that she always says "we love you" etc not I love you.

I always sign my notes to my children..."We love you"...cause we do.

Does she know about you? Is she really doing this to make you crazy or are you making yourself crazy?

CaliRN....that's a good one. Her friends just approved the friendship no problem? Shows you how crazy FB has gotten. If I don't know you, you don't get approved. My H on the other hand, he has a job that he is often in the public eye and admits he can't remember names so when someone friends him...he just clicks ok.
