So, tomorrow I will be moving out of the apartment my W and I once shared (she moved out in early July). It's a nice place in a nice neighborhood, but on my own, it would be tough to afford.
When my whole situation came to light http://www.dailystrength.org/groups/cheatersanonymous/discussions/messages/20693287).) I had a few really good conversations with a close friend from college. He's also become a good friend of my W's, and he talked to her, too. His basic thought: "Dude, you f'd up, but you two can get past this. I'm rooting for you both."
He happened to be looking to move as well, so we decided to share a 2-bedroom place. As someone who has been there for both my W and I, it feels comforting having him around. And I'd much rather live with someone (even if it's a friend) than be totally alone. I like conversation and companionship.
So, I'm hoping this move brings me a renewed energy. My home will no longer be filled with memories my W and I shared...and me being alone to realize I tainted all of them. This new place, this new living arrangement, will be a fresh start of sorts for me. Or at least I'm hoping that's the case. Still working on R with my wife, but I'm also trying to be excited (best as I can) for this new phase in life.

Good Luck! I hope the move gives you that fresh start...at least symbolically!

Thanks, WhiteCat! Me too!

This is good. Having a friend nearby will be great for you, as I am sure you are filling a void and a bit lonely. Having a friend to talk to will be good for you too. And you are saving money! Smart thinking.

I meant feeling a void...

Yes, am feeling a void, and hoping to fill it as well!

Good for you, Mike!! Having a new space will give you some space and time to clear your head and focus on what you want out of this new stage in your life. We're rooting for you!!

Thanks, folks! Move went well. Still getting stuff unpacked, etc., but feels good to be in a new place. One day at a time...
