or just someone to talk to that I can be frank with. My affair has ended (many times- but this one I'm committed to sticking) but I am really missing having someone to reach out to and reduce the temptation to reach back out to my AP. Obviously my spouse doesn't know. Noone else in my life knows and it's time to deal with what's happening in my present and grow as a human. I'm hoping I might be able to help someone else in similar circumstances. I would prefer to start through anonymous dms on this site and then perhaps move to actual email once we have built sufficient trust and comfort. As a heads up if you feel I may be of help to you my particulars as follows. Married 20 years, child and stepchild, 6 year affair (same person not serial), AP also married.

Thank you all I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets a great deal of comfort from the posts in this forum. I was here in 2018 and here I am back again

It might help to reach out to a therapist in your situation.
Having someone to talk to is important but a good therapist can also help you with tools to help with your issues. The best part nowadays is you can find many online who you can talk to virtually.

As far as an accountability partners, I would try and keep posting here or even on Reddit. I’m finding it cathartic to just write down my thoughts anonymously and if someone comments so be it. I have at least been able to release my thoughts. If nothing else I check in this site every so often, if I see you post something I’ll try to respond in a timely fashion.

I’m happy to help if I can. I have never cheated but recently discovered that my wife was having an online relationship. The pain can be hard to bear especially since it can lead to over questioning and criticism when what she needs is unconditional love. Easy to say but hard to action.

I understand your pain. My A lasted 4.5 years and when I finally ended it…… I guess you got the part that they always end… the pain begins.. there is a price to pay for these things us humans fall into uno.. I learned from here that no contact is really the only way out. So hang in there.. try to stay busy and try not to sink into that damn black hole of depression like I did.. God, that shit sucks!

I would love an accountability partner. I am in the same boat as you. My 7 year affair (same person) just ended out of nowhere and I am lost. I feel so alone with nowhere to turn. the black hole of depression is exactly how I would describe it. He was the love of my life. He is married and so am I. I have been married 20 years (not the happiest). both in our original marriages for the kids. He felt he needed a break from the affair for a while. stress of work, home, lying. Just overwhelmed. I am heartbroken! Having no one to talk to is so hard.

Hi: I ended my online /text/phone affair yesterday and I feel like I am dying. I can relate to how many of you feel. I am Married for 20+ years and no children. The affair partner wasn't the healthiest of relationships but filled an emotional need for me. This is painful. Any support would be appreciated.

I am going through the exact same thing. I have a therapist but she doesn’t seem attentive during our sessions anymore. I would really like to talk to someone who has been through this and hopefully help them too

I am relieved to see some people in the same boat. I had an affair for 5 years. 5 years!! And my husband is a good man. I broke it off 1 year ago, but finally told me husband. He is devastated and heart broken obviously. I feel so ashamed and just can’t stop mourning. I am planning to find a therapist this week for individual counseling. He would like to do individual counseling first. The pain is unbearable as I hurt someone I love so dearly. I can’t imagine what’s he’s going through and I know we may not be able to work this out.

This post was awhile ago, so you've probably already found what you were looking for, but I'd be game... if you're female (read it twice but I can't tell gender the post). I have nothing against men, it just just wouldn't be good idea for me.
