So I just broke it off with my AP, because it was the best thing to do in my head. In my heart I feel like shit. I informed my wife that I ended it. Then she wanted to know how I felt and of course I told her. "I feel sad, void, angry, disappointed, and heartbroken."

I will say I commend you for your honesty to your wife and you seem to understand in order to sort through your feelings in one relationship you can't have the other influencing you.

Whatever you decide to do at the very last your wife will have an awareness. And, in fairness, this will give each of you time individually, as well as a couple, to navigate all this.

Whatever the outcome, this too will pass. We are here for you and we have been there.
