My daughter has not had her baby yet. Induction Wed if she makes it that long. My niece had her baby last night two weeks early and all is well.

We are on the way now to move my son from one apartment to another that will be closer to his culinary school. This will make things so much easier for him. He is holding his own there so far in spite of his disabilities. One day at a time.

we made the mortgage this month! Yay! I am working far too hard, but things always change eventually, and so far we are making it, one bill at a time.

This morning I am procrastinating as it is raining outside, poured all night, and I have to plant peas and build trellises for them. And a muddy, wet puppy has just arrived to brighten my day. He is as close to a grandbaby as I get so far so we love him like he's human :)

Oooohhh!!! And I found out the Green Party is not running a candidate in our riding for the upcoming election so I don't have to wrestle with my conscience over voting for the NDP candidate. I hate being torn (any surprise from a cheater? :P)

I'm on day 2 of my dr oz 3 day detox smoothie cleanse and feeling crabby with a caffeine withdrawal headache

Oh pink, that withdrawal headache is the worst. My doctor told me to cut down gradually to avoid it. You could have half a cup just to make it bearable or try homeoopathic coffea crude, a microdose that shouldn't interfere with your cleanse.

What is coffee crude? The headache is getting mild now. I did down but not not out out for afew days prior to starting this cleanse. I've done the cabbage soup diet in the past which is not considered a cleanse but it was all fruits and veggies the first 3 days so it felt like a cleanse.

I'm just looking to recharge my metabolism. I've been at a plateau of weight loss for months now and I needed to find a way to change it up.

Today I'm enjoying beautiful spring weather and doing some school work. I have a group paper to write with my "learning team" at school. I usually HATE group projects, but this program MAKES you work in teams and turn in at least one group project a week.

No surprise, as a control freak I've been struggling with some of the more relaxed, last-minute students in my group who don't contribute and don't have a good vision. We are being "led" by one of them this week (we take turns as team leader). She has been completely out of contact. I finally took the bull by the horns, started making some calls, and pulled everyone together. This paper could be the difference between an A and a B, so I am NOT going to sit idly by and watch the ship sink. I think my approach was gentle and collaborative enough that everyone seems very happy, so I'm feeling much better.

On another note, I sang with a friend of mine last night who opened for a sold-out show. I had great fun, and we sounded a-m-a-z-i-n-g!!! Now if I can finish up this paper tonight I may even have all day tomorrow with no school work and no work-work. Just a relaxing me day! :)

Getting out there and singing is so frightening, but so great at the same time. I had a chance to back up a friend at a couple of jams last year and I really miss it. She's been giving our daughter voice lessons and they're getting ready to perform at a local club. Maybe it's time to practice a trio :) Nothing builds self esteem like performing and not passing out from fear!

That is so cool! Music is such a wonderful way of expressing yourself. And you're right, when it goes well it is such a satisfying feeling.

I have never really had stage fright. I used to perform in front of hundreds and even thousands of people with my choral group. We won some national and even an international competition. I also grew up in the church (although I am an atheist now) and sang in choir and the "praise and worship" teams. It can be very exciting.

I'm also an ex-church kid. As much as I hated the bullshit of it all, the sound of a gospel choir still tugs at my heart strings. That and Walking in Memphis. I'd love to belt it out but I can't get through it without breaking.
