Well the big long complicated vacation wasn't the cure-all I thought it would be. Just the opposite actually.
In a nutshell....the first road trip with my H was fun, we actually had a really good time. I did have contact with OM via text , but it wasn't constant & it wasn't often. He had a full fledged meltdown at one point and I was hoping he'd find it all too difficult to take on---but no, he regrouped & got over it.
Then I took a road trip with family (hubby didn't go) and let me tell ya....6 days with those people had me wondering if I would be better off leaving EVERYONE and going to live on a beach by myself for the rest of my days. I didn't have time to think of my H or OM, at one point I wondered, do I love either of them? Do I need or want anyone? I could not even remember what either of them look like or sound like. Yes, that's what 6 days of rough terrain, mountains, scenic views & crazy relatives will do....oh and alcohol. Lots of alcohol. LOL. The good thing is cell reception was spotty so I didn't have to worry about phone calls. Texts were hit & miss.
And to wrap it all up in a pretty bow, we had our cruise this past week and just arrived home on Monday. My sweetheart of a husband decided to be Mr. Perfect for the first half of the cruise & well....the Devil for the 2nd half. So I vented to OM a little (only a tiny bit) and he handled it very well and was somewhat supportive. Which of course backfired, because I secretly desired another meltdown and maybe this time he'd just say to hell with it & leave me. He didn't.
I'm back to square one, nothing has changed.

And judging by your other post, your OM did have that meltdown when he decided to play therapist on you. OM doesn't want to see you happy because then you wouldn't need him.
And your comment about OM.....very interesting, I never thought of it like that!
