I actually got fired from a job when I was younger. I felt huge pressure to give into him, did twice, and then when I didn't want to continue I got fired (for made-up other reasons but it was his word against mine and I remember the look he was giving me when he, me, and another supervisor sat down to let me go). He was much older than me and was married.

It was long time ago (prior to the awareness of sexual harassment) and before I was married, but I remember his name, the way he looked, the way I was pressured, how he made me feel, and yes, I did later find out he had or was doing that to others.

Actresses go thru the same thing..."the casting couch" affect. I had a couple of bosses that were mildly forward with me. I learned to sidestep their advances sending them a msg I wasn't interested but at the same time giving them the impression I thought it was an accident on their part (deniability) if I were to call them on it. Did that make sense?

I hate these guys. It's hard enough to compete in a mans world let alone have to lower ourselves to be their sex slaves. It's all about the power for them.

So sorry this happened to you Shore. It's just not fair & I'm sure it affected you long after.

Minspa, you need to find another job. Get away from this creep. I only say this because you seem to be afraid of what this guy can do to your career. That's not love.

I've experienced this since I was 16. One boss locked me in a room and forced me to watch porn and whacked off in front of me. I quit the next day. At another job when I was 18, I was transferred to another location because I wouldn't 1. go out with my manager and then 2. wouldn't cozy up with the silent partner who offered to be my sugar daddy. Received a demotion in the process. Sucks. Had I had a decent dose of self esteem I would have walked.

I understand it's easier to fish on the company dock, but superiors who do this are blurring the lines with the imbalance of power.

Ugh, slimeballs. I agree with you Clover, these guys who pursue their young underlings are the worst. And the woman almost always comes out the loser. I do love my job though. And AP was the one who extended me the job offer, unsolicited, so I did always feel like I owed him (not anymore!).

These stories are distressing. As a male that has owned bizes and almost always had female subordinates I always tried to stay aware that there could be no worse situation for a young female to be in then to feel her job depended on favors for the boss. Don't get me wrong .. I hVe always liked my alpha male status and frankly never trusted myself to not cross certain lines when it came to workplace relationships so I always backed up and drew a heavy black line between me and anyone that worked for me. And glad I did.
i always had a clear conscious when I had to fire a female subordinate.

With that said.. every job I had where I had female subordinates there was always at least one that it made it VERY clear that they would like to be "special" and would be willing to do special things for that status.

Again, glad I never went down that road. And was never accused of mispropriety..

You don't no how many dudes I know that could not discipline themselves to not play with hired help and had their careers and sometimes family destroyed because of it.
