I'm leaving in the morning for a July whirlwind vacation. Road trip, back for one day, road trip, back for two days, then a short 4 day cruise.

One road trip & the cruise will be with my H, the other road trip will be with my extended family & my H will be here working.

OM is not happy about the cruise or the road trip with H, and tonight I suggested we just give it a break for a while & see what happens when I get back. He never responded to that text.

If nothing else, the cruise will be mandatory 4 days of NC, from what I understand. No cell service in the middle of the ocean, so I've heard.

I have a feeling this trip will make me or break me. Hopefully being out there in a new environment, exploring new things & having fun with H will cure me.

I'll check in from time to time.

Don't go looking for contact via the business office and internet!!! Use the time to get 4 days of a lifetime of NC. Enjoy your husband!!!

Time away from your "regular" life is a very good time to evaluate things. I hope you able to find some peace and figure out what it is you truly desire to do. Have fun with your hubby!

Agree with the above & love the text you sent. Kudos to you. He has no right, "not to be happy" you are going on vacation with your H.
Take the time to focus on the present.

Mary, concentrate on relaxing & letting your mind go. I loved the solarium where teens & kids weren't allowed, away from the chaos & noise of the pool area. Grab a drink & sit in one of the chairs by the railing and lose your mind in the waves. Let your true feelings come to you. Don't overthink. Don't force.

DON'T take a book! The worst thing I did was lug around that huge version of The Hobbit & Lord of The Rings. I never opened it once, not once! When we went onshore to beaches, I'd lug that along with all the other essentials, in my pretty, tropical tote bag. Wasn't long before it ripped & I had to buy a replacement. LOL!

Well Road Trip #1 is down & off to Road Trip #2 tomorrow. My H & I had a great time. We had so much fun driving the open roads so to speak, lots of talking & laughing. Somehow, OM knew not to text me during the day & he did in the evening, about 7-8pm the first two nights. On the 2nd night, he had a complete meltdown over the fact that I was on vacay with my H. I didn't talk to him again until I got back last night. Lots of time to think & re-evaluate. Road Trip #2 is with extended family so there for sure won't be any sneaking around & talking during this trip either. I won't be with my H this time, so I'll have some true alone time without either of them.
Cruise is next.
It seems a little easier as times goes on. Almost 3 days of NC is a record and I've never been that strong before.

It makes me nervous how controlling he seems. He really has no right. Seems like some sort of sign. Wonder what this trait would manifest into if you were "together".

Thinking more about it...perhaps that is what you like about him. My husband isn't very possessive and when my OM was (very rarely and only when it involved other men hitting on me...he never said a word about my H) I secretly loved it. Anyhow, just something to think of while you are cruising the seas. I loved my time out on the ocean with mandatory NC from my ENTIRE life. :)
