I have this friend. We have been friends since freshman year. However, since junior year started, we have been getting in a lot of fights. Several months ago, her now ex boyfriend tried to rape her, and she broke up with him. She thought she should've let it happen, I didn't. She didn't think that she should've told her mom (and neither did her "bestie" who is mentioned later). When she did tell her mom, she got mad at me because apparently her mom got mad at HER about the whole rape thing.Weeks later, she talked about how she missed him and wished she had never broken up with him as well as still thinking that she should've let him rape her. Months later, she was talking to her ex in the halls, which pissed me off because she wanted to be friends with him again, which led me to believe that he didn't even try to rape her because she has a habit of lying, and because I've talked to her mom on several occassions and I doubt that she would get mad at her daughter and call her a, and I quote "slut" and a "whore" for almost being raped (which to me doesn't even make sense). Anywho, a couple months after all that, I broke up with my boyfriend who was also her friend*. The day of the break up we got in a fight because she didn't like the fact that I broke up with him, even though she did absolutely nothing when he broke up with me the first time. She said that my reason for breaking up with him was a bunch of bull (except there were some swear words). The reason for the break up was simple, he got annoying. He would text me nonstop, even if I told him that I was going to be busy at a certain time, and then complained when I didn't text him back. He would also complain that we weren't communicating. To my friend instead of me (does anyone else see the irony in that?). She said it was because they had been friends since middle school, but he would always text me or call me whenever he had a problem with his previous girlfriend. We started talking again a couple weeks afterwards, but hit another bump when my ex began telling my all of friends that I was talking trash about them (which wasn't true), and she believed him. We got past the bump. However, whenever I would say something, she would ignore me completely. At first I joked around about it, but now it happens all the time EVEN WHEN I KNOW THAT SHE CAN HEAR ME. I have a habit of putting my coat that is too large for my bookbag (and maybe me too) in her locker. I have asked her for her combination several times, but she won't give it to me. Today, before my 6th hour (which is when I usually get my coat), she was at her locker. She was getting ready to open it, when my ex came down the hall, because apparently he puts his varsity jacket in there. I told her that I needed my coat and she looked right at me, then start talking to my ex. She then handed him his varsity jacket, at that point I reminded her again that I needed my coat, and closed her locker. When she closed her locker, I said, "I still need my coat." And she said, "Well you should have told me when my locker was open." Now when I talked to one of my best friends about it, she said that it has been hard on my other friend, since two of the people at our school died on the 28th and 30th. I would normally agree with that, I mean it's been hard for me too, however, in this case I don't. She has a habit of ignoring her "friends". Also, she somehow is fine when she is talking to her "bestie since the 27th". And now, whenever she is not talking to her "bestie" in class, they are either in the hallway working, or she pretends like she has to go to the bathroom, is gone for 20 minutes, comes back for 5 or 6 minutes, and then pretends like she has to go to her locker. I don't know if I should just ride this one out like all of the other problems, or leave her.
Additional thought to the *: I believe that they may like each other. She got all defensive and stuff when I said that he was annoying. I'm not the only one who thinks that either. A guy who likes my friend (my friend apparently likes him too), and even went on a double date with her, and my exs brother and his girlfriend (although she refuses to call it a date) told another guy (who likes the same friend, but my ex was the bigger threat I guess), to keep an eye on them because he thinks there is something going on too.
Sorry that this is so long.
