Champions Of Christ Church Community Group
This is a church, but online! Most people view a church as the building you go to for worship. NOT TRUE. In the beginning, it was a community that shared things. This is a church. A web-based community who can share with others. Feel free to ask questions. There are no "dumb" questions. How will you know unless you ask. I only ask that you have JOY. (Respect of Jesus,...

So I am on the path towards redemption. I know I’ll make mistakes, but I feel that the most important thing is I’m making the journey. My question is if this is ok. I say my prayers at night then while I’m lying down I’ll just talk to God. Kinda like those are my prayers they’re for praise. Then I’ll talk about what’s going on with my life. Maybe even recollect events from the past. Sometimes though I feel like I might be using God as a therapist when I do it, but I only mean well. I also feel like since I’ve been away for a while that I probably should tread lightly. I have gotten a lot out of just taking to God, I’ve had three revelations and I know this will be a long post but I want to share them.
I would always say why do I always have to lose. I don’t need to win, I just want to break even. Gods answer to me was that’s no way to live. You’re basically looking for mediocrity, you should live to win.
The second was about strength and courage to deal with my depression and anxiety and problems with work. Gods answer was the stronger you build you faith, the strength and courage will come to aid me in that fight.
The third is that I asked for forgiveness for some things I said about there being no God. I know it’s a big one but I was at a point that I had to pass blame on someone. I couldn’t keep blaming myself. Like if I’m a good person why would God let this happen to me. His answer was it wasn’t me making these things happen it was evil. The whole time I was struggling with my faith I never considered the devil.
That’s where I am now. I have the instructions now I just have to do the work. It’s gonna take time and I’m sure there’ll be times I stumble but I’m willing to try. And about the no God exists, I feel that in a way it might have actually saved me because at that point I was done. I couldn’t take it anymore. It sounds weird but if I didn’t step away I don’t know if I’d be here today.

What’s the biggest challenge in your life right now?

Refer to my profile pic. It's a pic of Jesus carrying our baggage. To me, this says a lot.
Matthew 11:29-30 New Living Translation (NLT)
29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
In the agrarian culture (farming) a yoke is something put around a horse, oxen, or any pack animal to guide and control the animal. Some can be hateful and mean when used. But, Jesus promises his will be light and easy.
He also promises to carry our burdens, bags, "load"...anything that might hold us back or slow us down.
And, you can use Jesus/God as a therapist, listener, whatever you need. His shoulders are big...He can handle it.
This is one of my favorite quotes:
Don't tell your God how big your problems are...
Tell your problems how Big your God IS!!!
I continue to bring you Boldly to the thrown...that you will learn that God, Abba, Father (Daddy) is willing and ready to take you back into the family.
Like the "prodigal son", God is waiting, patiently, for your return. And He is running to meet you!!!
Prodigal son story in Luke 15:11-32.
My favorite verse:
V2o-And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.
Doncornielus, I think you have had 3 wonderful revelations, and thank you so much for sharing. God loves you, and He's happy to have you home again. He celebrates over you returning home, there's no need to tread lightly. He sees you as His son. Read the passage that Mary suggested Luke 15:11-32. It's an amazing image of how God really is, and how He really feels about you.
Much like when one starts therapy, in the beginning, you're revealing the things that are deep in your heart and soul. For example, the fact that you once said that God doesn't exist. Not only is He there to hear your praise, but He's also there to listen to your fears, your pain, and even your anger. He will always be patient, no matter what you say or how you say it. Your prayers don't have to follow a specific formula. And, there is no need to tread lightly, because He is pleased that you are talking to Him.
I once heard it said that the best part of having God as a therapist is the fact that He sticks around for eternity. You never have to go looking for a new one when your old one leaves town. : ) However, I think the best part is that He is there 24/7 to provide comfort and the answers that you are searching for. Hugs and prayers as you continue on the path not only, in your words, towards redemption, but also towards peace.
King James Bible
Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repents.
A smart man and a wise man. A wise man learns from Others mistakes. A smart man learns from his own. Be a wise man.Take heed to this.If you Master the Art of these things and all the advice in the above posts. If we Master the Art of knowing that the Lord is the artist, we are the paint, the Lord is the sculptor as we are the clay- we will be in content in being painted or sculpted, we find content and happiness and ultimate Joy in all matters.
Yes continue to release and empty yourself into his listening ears and his
comforting arms. Bless you and my sisters in the Champions of Christ!!!
DC, ever heard the saying:
Its not the destination but the journey.
Or,
Life is not a sprint. But, a marathon.
Both sayings sooo fit here. Especially the last one. You see, I view life as a marathon. A race that is run over a long distance bit not always the quickest time. Just being able to finish the race is the important part.
Hebrews 12:1-2 New Living Translation (NLT)
12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith ... let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
Paul encourages in this scripture that life is a race that should be run with endurance.
And, we should run that race...not with winning in mind. But, completion. Winning is not everything. But, neither is "settling". Put forth your best effort. God will do His part. And, together, things will get done.
Luke 10:38-42 New International Version (NIV)
At the Home of Martha and Mary
38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one.[a] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
It is good for us to be confident to just release unto the Lord spend time with him listening to him and we will know what is needed of us to run that race-thanks Mary, thank you& to all Champions of Christ.
