This is a church, but online! Most people view a church as the building you go to for worship. NOT TRUE. In the beginning, it was a community that shared things. This is a church. Sometimes, us older Christians use terms or words in a Christian way. We are so sure everybody understands what we are talking about. Mostly, because we have been using those terms or words in a Christian understanding for so long.
Me, myself, was raised in the church. Some of my first and fondest memories are attending Sunday School or Vacation Bible School. (VBS) And, GA's (girls in action) Or Bible drills.
But, it recently came to my attention not everybody knows these terms in the way I do.
For example, I saw a thread about Bible School. Those who participated automatically thought of VBS (Vacation Bible School). One member said she would like to attend a bible school. Specifically a Bible School I was familiar with.
Then, everyone just ignored the members comment. No one took the time to explain to her what was meant by "bible school."
That will NOT happen here. You will NOT be ignored or looked down on because you don't quite understand what is being discussed. You might not understand the phrase or word used in this forum. If not, ASK.
Please, ASK. How will you know unless you ask. How do I know you are having problems with a theory unless you tell me. I am not a mind reader. God is. But, even trying to do God's will, I don't always know your questions. I cannot answer them unless they are asked.
So, what I am trying to say is I cannot answer questions that are never asked. It might take a while to answer because I might need to consult with scholars. But, you questions will be answered.
I hope this helps encourage some participation.
No question is too awkward or silly. And we each come with a set of skill sets to suit out important 0urpose in life.
This is what I mean by "Christian jargon". Not everyone knows those phrases you learn from early age to wherever you are in your life journey now. So...dont be bashful. Ask somebody.
I must admit, CajunBot ask a question on Tuesday, the 16th. I didn't see it until today, the 18th. But, it was answered. And it was a very good question.
Without a Bible, what would you say if a nonbelievers asked "how do you know your God is real?"

But, back to the original thread. See, there's a term not everyone knows MY meaning of.
Thread, isn't it as thing you sew with. NO. Here, it means a thread of thought...a group of people talking about the same subject.
Just an example.
See, CB can use another term is another jargon that means the same thing. And, sometimes we have used a term or phrase so often we have become familiar with it. But, others may not understand it the way we do.
So, don't be embarased. Ask!!! Stop me in my tracks if you not familiar with a term or phrase. Or, even if it's a whole idea. You are not dumb...I'm not so smart in my assumption you understand what I'm saying.
Another example is another member questioned the meaning of a scripture I shared. I probably shouldn't have shared it. I think it was something that applied to a personal issue that was going on in my life. So, it was not meant to be shared...maybe. But, the member asking the meaning made me look at it closer. See...we not all perfect...dont put me on a pedestal...i could get knocked down. And, that could be painful for BOTH of us.
