Champions Of Christ Church Community Group
This is a church, but online! Most people view a church as the building you go to for worship. NOT TRUE. In the beginning, it was a community that shared things. This is a church. A web-based community who can share with others. Feel free to ask questions. There are no "dumb" questions. How will you know unless you ask. I only ask that you have JOY. (Respect of Jesus,...

The good news is that we have someone that paid for all of our sins. 1 John 2:2 says, "And he [Jesus] is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world."
If we back up to the previous chapter. 1 John 1:8-10 (NLT) tells us, "If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. (9) But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all wickedness. (10) If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts." So God will forgive us and cleanse us from all wickedness if we confess our sins.
The next verse 1 John 2:1 says, "My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous." The next verse is the one I quoted earlier that says Jesus is the propitiation/atonement/payment for the sins of the whole world.
2 Corinthians 5:19-21 (NLT) says, "For God was in Christ, reconciling the whole world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. (20) So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, 'Come back to God!' (21) For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ."
I hope this helps. God wants you to turn to Him to feel better. He wants to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. He loves you! He loved you enough to send Jesus to die for you. God loved us in our sin. Romans 5:8 (NLT) tells us, "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners."
Romans 5:11 says, "So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because of our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends with God."
Hebrews 4:16 (NLT) "So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most."
I hope that helps. Of course we are supposed to repent of our sins, we aren't supposed to keep living in sin, but I was trying to make the point that the price for sin has been paid. We have right standing with God through faith, not through our works. Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God: (9) Not of works lest any man should boast." None of us are righteous in an of our selves. Romans 3:10 "As it is written, 'There is none righteous, no not one."
God bless!

Healthseeker, thank very much for all those scripture references. I truly appreciate it.
But, here's the thing I fall back on when something like this comes up. There was two men crucified with Jesus. (According to the King James translation, they were "criminals".) (Luke 23) v 39 One criticised and mocked Jesus. V42- the other criminal asked Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” All he asked for was to be REMEMBERED...thats reasonable. To be REMEMBERED.
But, Jesus said:
V44. "today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
When? Today!
Are there any prerequisites? Does he need to clean up his life? Does he need to follow the 10 commandments? Does he NEED to DO anything before he is accepted into heaven? NO. NOTHING.
TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise.
Not after you do this or do that. As you are NOW...not after you follow someone else's rules and regulations. Not even your own rules and regulations. But, because of My Grave and love for you, TODAY!!! At the moment you accept that I paid for ALL your sins. EVERYTHING you have ever done, your so it, you will do. ALL of it. No questions asked. Nothing held against you.
TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise.
