Champions Of Christ Church Community Group
This is a church, but online! Most people view a church as the building you go to for worship. NOT TRUE. In the beginning, it was a community that shared things. This is a church. A web-based community who can share with others. Feel free to ask questions. There are no "dumb" questions. How will you know unless you ask. I only ask that you have JOY. (Respect of Jesus,...

When we make a mistake or sin, God wants us to run to Him and come into His presence with boldness. Jesus paid for every sin on the cross. We don't have to punish ourselves, God is God of mercy and grace. 1 John 1:9 tells us, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." God wants you to come into HIs presence, He wants you to go there to obtain mercy, and to be cleansed from all unrighteousness. Satan wants you to feel guilty, he is called the accuser of the brethren. Satan wants you to stay far away from God and punish yourself when you mess up. He wants you to believe you are filthy and rotten, and no good. He can keep people stuck in bondages to sin that way. But when we feel completely forgiven, we can let go of it.
One more verse: 2 Corinthians 5:21
New International Version
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
New Living Translation
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
English Standard Version
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Jesus' blood cleanses our sins, and we are made right with God through His sacrifice, not our good behavior. God bless!
1 John 2:1-2 tells us, "My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world."
Hebrews 10:10-12 says, "10 For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time. 11 Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins. 12 But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand."
The son took his inheritance and left for a new country. There he spent his inheritance foolishly. He reached the lowest of the low. He thought his father would never take him back.
What he didn't seem to know was that his father was watching for him to return. The son expected to be punished.
The father said to kill the fatted calf, lets have a party!!
24 for this son of mine was [as good as] dead and is alive again; he was lost and has been found.’ So they began to celebrate.
O throw us a party.
This is how it is everytime we return to God. He's patiently waiting for us to return. And when we do He is ready to throw us a party!!!
We are the ones who came up with the punishment concept. Because we have listened to those who have interpreted the scriptures to fit their vision of God. God doesn't always fit into their vision. He surprises us all. As a matter of fact, He loved us soooo much, He gave His one and unique son to take our sins away.
Psalm 103
As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
I'm here to talk if you need more.
Good to hear from you.
And please quit punishing yourself.
God (Abba, Father) loves you just like He loves all His other children.
Ephesians 1:5
Amplified Bible
5 He predestined and lovingly planned for us to be adopted to Himself as [His own] children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the kind intention and good pleasure of His will.
