Champions Of Christ Church Community Group
This is a church, but online! Most people view a church as the building you go to for worship. NOT TRUE. In the beginning, it was a community that shared things. This is a church. A web-based community who can share with others. Feel free to ask questions. There are no "dumb" questions. How will you know unless you ask. I only ask that you have JOY. (Respect of Jesus,...

The "Lord's prayer" really should be named the "sample" prayer. You see, Jesus's disciples were impressed with Jesus's prayer life. They had seen the things He could do - heal the sick, cure lepers, feed thousands with a little, some very impressive things. And, they related it all the Jesus's prayer life and His relationship with Abba, Father.
So, if you look at the scriptures before the "Lord's prayer" you will notice a few things.
1) Jesus was teaching on Not being like the religious leaders of the day. They loved to be recognized for their work on earth. And, He says, they will get their reward on earth. But, do just the opposite to receive your reward in Heaven.
2. He teaches Not to pray as the religious leaders do. They make sure others will notice they are praying in public. He says, (Matthew 6:6) go into a room by yourself. After you have shut the door, pray to your Father Who is in secret. Then your Father Who sees in secret will reward you.
Then He says:
V9 Pray like this:
Our Father in heaven, Your name is holy. 10 May Your holy nation come. What You want done, may it be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us the bread we need today. 12 Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
13 ‘Do not let us be tempted, but keep us from sin. *Your nation is holy. You have power and shining-greatness forever. Let it be so.’
This is from NLV (New Life Version)
So, you see, it is a model prayer. You don't have to say it word for word.
And, consider this scripture:
Romans 8:26 New King James Version (NKJV)
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
There's a song put there that might explain it better. It's called "Just say Jesus". Look it up.

"When you don't know what to say, Just say Jesus. There is power in the name, the name of Jesus. If the words won't come 'cause your too afraid to pray, Just say Jesus, just say Jesus. Whisper it now, or shout it out. However it comes out, He hears your cry."
I would highly encourage you to listen to it. Hugs!
OR SHOUT IT OUT!!!
My favorite part!!!
