Its just a random group who haapens to be catholic. I am actually a priest so I can answer questions, but if I do not know the answer I might be able to set you in the right direction. As for you saying "I know it's a sin to talk about that sort of stuff" I do not know what you are refering to. Talking is not a sin unless one is trying to destroy another being or deny the dignatiy he or she deserves because they are children of God. Debating and discussing is good that is how insight is gained and with it comes wisdom! Peace Fr. G

But isn't debating about God a sin? That's exactly what I'm doing and by debating I am persuading the person in a way. Here is one thing I'm debating. God knows the future; this is how I got to this conclusion. Jesus said "Peter you will turn your back on me three times" because it was written in the stars but in order for him to know that God must have known. So if he knows the future, then he must know how we all turn out. Considering that, what is the point to all of this? If he knows how we are going to turn out and he knows who he wants; then why are we being tested? What is the point to all of this? If you were given the power to be God, to be able to make man kind, to be able to make life; but you knew there would be all of this suffering. Would you? I wouldn't, I wouldn't want anyone to go through the things I did or to feel how I feel. The world is full of suffering; ranging from mental to physical. Kids are getting cancer, people are "killing" themselves to just put food on the table for their families. Now one might say, it's man kinds fault or its the economy that's doing this; but is it? God is responsible for all of this, he made all of us. He knew what each and one of us was going to turn out and go through.

You are placing the sole responsibility on God and excluding yourself. As Jesus was on the cross he cried out, “My God, my God why have you abandoned me?” God is not excluded in the suffering for he had done the same. God is with us at all times. The question is: are we with God at all times? It is our free will, our fallen nature, if you will to follow or fall behind. St. John writes, “God is love and whoever lives in love lives in God.” Most of the pain and suffering is from our own hands because we have not lived in love. Yes there is pain and suffering and innocent people die, however, in that tragedy, in what appears to be the darkest moment there is still a glimmer of hope, of light when we learn to give a little bit more and love a little bit more. How can we know love, joy and happiness without despair? How can there be a resurrection without death? It is not about God knowing us, it is about us knowing God and doing what God wants. It is about God’s will being done, not ours and no, God is not responsible for the suffering, we are. It is the gift of free will that allows us to choose God or not, to choose love or not. The consequences for our choice are solely ours.
