The only good I can figure out from my buddy being gone a week now is...save, trap, adopt, a homeless cat in alley on next street.
This cat, and sometimes two cats, they look enough alike, are in a fenced-in lot of a factory; they can get in through gap in gate, and I can put my hand through there, at 430 morning to feed them.
But...maybe my good intentions, with trips to vet for teeth cleaning/laser treatments, hurt my cat, stress-wise.
And maybe the one or two cats I want to "save" might be better off, than having a new, and enclosed, environment.
The oldest cat in the world died a few years ago, at over 30 years!...and that cat was an outside cat, that probably got some food, shelter, attention, while being outside.
why not? If you have resources you can invest in the relations, I would say - do it. Being a cat (pet) parents is great responsibility, you will need to provide food and toys, play with kitty, and take care about them. In the Internet, you will find lots of helpful site to get knowledge if you need, there are lots of books for pet owners available, etc. This post gives brief info about why you will need to buy a perch for your cat: https://ourlove4writing.wordpress.com/2021/05/08/window-perches-for-cats/ If you think you can improve their life, just do what you think is the best for both sides.
