Finally, I have my own apartment again and I'm allowed to have a cat. So I went looking on petfinder.com and fell in love with one. She was a black medium hair cat, 2 years old, currently at a shelter 93 miles from where I live. I submitted an application to adopt. I talked to the adoption counselor via email. I was told I had to come to the shelter to meet the cat, that that was their adoption process. I no longer have my own car. I have no family since my husband died in 2017. I don't know anyone who would drive me 93 miles to an animal shelter. The route is through the mountains of central Pennsylvania. I'm in Williamsport and the shelter is in Chambersburg. A bus would only go from Williamsport to State College. Even Lyft would not go that route. I feel so left down. I've been lonely and socially isolated during COVID. This cat was the only one in a 100 mile radius that really spoke to me. She could have been the twin sister of a cat I had, Mocha. The look in her beautiful green eyes was identical. I wish I could go adopt this cat but I don't see how.
