After waiting since 2017, when I was living in places where I wasn't allowed to have a cat, I was able to adopt one from the local shelter. Adopapet.com found him for me. He's a 4-year-old black male DSH. He's beautiful, with eyes that say "I love you". He's really adjusted quickly to living in my apartment with me. He came from a situation where there were many cats, overcrowded. He needed veterinary care and didn't get it. He was in the vet hospital for awhile getting over pneumonia with IV antibiotics and being treated for roundworms. Now he's healthy and happy and even sleeps with me in bed, already! I ordered some toys for him. Having had 2 diabetic cats in the past, I became an expert on feline nutrition, and it's coming in handy again. I feel happy again, like I got something back that I had lost and missed for so long. I ordered some cat videos for him. One I had to get from Ebay, that I knew was one of the best, but no longer being produced. I wanted a leather catnip mouse with a leather tail for him, and wound up ordering that from Etsy, from a guy who hand makes them. I scoured the internet. People buy furry mice off of Amazon, and say they cut the tails off so the cat doesn't choke on them! It feels so, so good to have a cat again. I feel like my life has some meaning and purpose again. It feels really good to belong to a cat lover's group again.
