Thinking about the internet. Our oldest grandson is 13 going on 14. How should wife and i respond if we find out that he has an internet presence. What should be our plan of action when we do see it. Should we just let it be or should we respond in some way?

I have seen our grandson on 2 occasions. One was at the funeral of my mother in law and this would be the funeral of his great grandma. I came up to him and i bent down to hug him but before i did that i told him that i was his grandfather. He was about 7 at the time and he looked at his dad for what he should do with this info. His dad confirmed who I am. This occurred at the end of the funeral service and before the big ride to the cemetery.

The second time was at the end of that awful court case where we did not succeed in getting grandparential visitation rights. After the court session, regardless of the fact that we had lost this case, i walked up to our son ( he had his then 9 year old son at his side) and i asked him if it was not about time to have our son introduce me to his son so that i could meet my grandson and that this grandson could meet me. Our son said No. It is not that time. I then said that i have a car full of presents for my 2 grandsons that i would love to give them and again our son said no. I saw the eyes of that 9 year old boy and they were sad.. I felt really bad at that time. I so wanted to go to that young lad and give him a big hug.

Dear wife also had one meeting with our grandson. This was when she knocked on the door of the place where they were staying, Son's live in girlfriend let wife in and there was the 10 year old boy, She bent down and did the hug thing for him and she gave him a kiss on the cheek. Then son appeared with rage in his heart and ordered dear wife off the property.

How would we or should we start a conversation with this lad if we had his email internet contact. Your input is requested. xfmlg
