Symptoms caused by candida? What are the main symptoms caused by candida? Candida is a form of yeast that grows in the body, in fact there are nearly 150 different types of identified candida yeast, but not all of these will cause a fungal infection in the body.
Although if an overgrowth of candida occurs in the body then it will create a fungal infection; the overgrowth usually occurs because the good bacterium in the body has been eliminated through the use of prescription medicines and high doses of antibiotics. When a person is exposed to these medicines for a prolonged amount of time, the conditions in the body are not ideal to promote good bacteria growth and it starts to die off or is ate by the other microorganisms that are meant to stifle the good bacteria.
When this occurs a person begins to show signs of a yeast infection, which can also be called thrush depending on which part of the body it affects. While penile thrush and thrush in the mouth is common, the most common form of infection is a vaginal yeast infection and can be passed from partner to partner. Some of the typical causes of these types of infection include pregnancy, diabetes, hormonal imbalance, antibiotics, stress, poor diet, and many other reasons not listed.
The common symptoms of a candida infection can include burning, itching, painful urination, painful sexual intercourse, and a watery discharge. Of course it is also possible to have a yeast infection and have no symptoms at all; but if you suspect that you might be suffering from a fungal infection such as an overgrowth of candida; it is best to seek medical consultation. A medical doctor will be able to do a physical and blood exams to determine if you do have a yeast infection; if you do have this type of infection it can be controlled with anti-fungal prescription pills and specialized creams.
