I have suffered with social anxiety all my life, and depression is part learned behavior from my mom, and probably chemical induced since I started doing drugs and alcohol at a very young age.
Was that too much?
welcome to our cage hiareth - impressed with your achievements, especially the smokes, they must be the hardest thing to kick, i've managed to give up everything else except them and coffee :/ well....did pick up the weed again few weeks back after 2 years without but managed to stop again before it got out of hand :)
Now I'm working on the chocolate chip cookie dough addiction. It's always something isn't it?
I've always struggled with alcohol, I cling for dear life as it is the only thing that relaxes me....I've now proven to myself that I can live without it anytime I wish..I stopped for a long while. Why did I go back? I'll be glad to tell you why. I am now retired and that means I am no spring chicken...I now will do the things that make me happy, I am never sure of being here the next morning! I guess I am saying that I want to die happy, not live to make a counselor happy! I also gave up smoking over 3 wks ago, and am breathing better. That is why I stopped, I was scared to death with shortness of breath! I will enjoy an occasional puff at happy times, though! I guess you can see that I am very much a realist. I am down to earth with a tremendous sense of humor at life. I also am currently suffering from a driving panic, it is awful...I only drive locally now. It's even worse when I drive with someone else driving! You will usually find me on the floor of the car when going over bridges, on ramps, highways, parkways and turnpikes. This is serious because it keeps you home bound many times. I have always suffered from depression, I am resigned to the fact of being on antidepressants for the rest of my life In conclusion, I enjoy so many things in life and am happy to be here!
Susy, good luck with the driving! Remember, for some reason you must stay on the RIGHT side of the road!Congratulations for getting out there and learning!
