C O M M U N I T Y L E A D E R S Community Group
This is a group for Community Leaders and DS staff. Content posted by those who are not staff or Community Leaders will be removed. Posters: please remember that anyone who has a link to this group can view the content found in this group. Therefore, we should treat this group as if it were like any other public group on DS. Also, older content will be occasionally...

They can see pretty much anything they want to on the net..... I know Mark and I have been concerned about them as well....
DS decided to keep the age the same when the new site was launched and I think it some ways it's a really good thing ... We are there to offer support and hopefully if anyone is acting inappropriately we'll pick it up on' hopefully'
But anyway it's 13
There was a botched Teen:DS launch which were supposed to be monitored but never were- I think I saw one of the forums is still here. it never had much activity (like some only had one post by a DS staffer ever).
My view is that it's possibly better to have the teens on main boards - the quiet backwater of the teen groups get all sorts of undesirables free range.
Asking members to talk about their sexual abuse is a classic behaviour of a small group of people who get sexual gratification from that sort of thing. We've had a number over the years - some are very persistent and some go on to stalk people outside of DS.
You might want to pass on the name of the member to DS and ask them to take a look. Might be worth mentioning the name "BeatinBP"
A couple of months ago I had DS staff look into a couple of usernames' accounts to see if they weren't the same person posting separately to gas light our members and provoke anxiety. You have to be encouraging on the one hand, and keep your eyes peeled on the other hand.
We never got to the bottom of that question. Still, the DS investigation itself resulted in that one of the two usernames disappeared. The one that was left toned the drama down. Fair enough for now.
