I have dealt with BPD symptoms since the start of high school, but when undiagnosed until recently thanks to a new therapist who actually listens to me. Meds have been recommended, but I have such a frail support system that I just don't feel like I have the courage to try out meds. I just feel so alone in this, even with my therapist's help, and the loneliness is debilitating. What do I do?
I'm new too, and our stories are a lot alike. I was recently diagnosed and I've struggled with the emptiness inside and feeling like I have no depth, I think it started at puberty.
I resisted meds for years. I was on them as a kid but did not want to take them as an adult. Then after things got really bad I finally gave in. My doc put me on Prozac and even though it took a couple months to notice a difference, but I am glad I did it. Takes the edge off.
Support groups are great, if you can find some ones in your area its really amazing connect with people in person.
Writing in a journal, if you don't already.
Talking to people helps, which is why I joined the group.
