Our group is primarily for those born from 1946 to 1964 and earlier. Come here to discuss the good and bad things about your age, retirement, benefit problems, and activities. And, maybe throw in a memory or two. If you're younger, you might learn where our generation is coming from. All are welcome.
Will you answer the door to Trick or Treaters Halloween night? I won't. I'll keep my porch light off until 10PM to discourage them. There are several reasons; I cannot afford the treats,,,,I live alone and since I live in a neighborhood with few kids, any kids would be coming from other areas,,,,I don't live in the best area of town and don't want to risk home invasion,,,and every knock on the door would mean getting Foxy into another room in order to open the door. I enjoyed trick or treating when I was a kid, but these are harder times and many use Halloween to harm and do damage to others. Its a pity.

Yes I will give out treats I get a lot of young kids and i enjoy the interaction. There is a time limit 6PM-8PM in my neighborhood so that the kids can be safe. It is a shame that we have to be concerned with opening our doors. If someone doesn't make arrangements to visit with me in advance I refuse to open the door because you never know. Really a shame one has to feel this way.

I doubt we will have any trick or treat kiddos. Don't know if I will answer or not but probably will.

Years ago we had many kids coming to our door. We dressed up ourselves and played spooky music outside our door. until one year one little started to cry when I opened the door - seems like we scared her to death! The last few years we do not get anyone at our door, kids have grown up now. One year we forgot to buy candy and we did not open the door. I do miss the little ones all dressed up, and I miss getting dressed up as well.

No we leave our light off outside also and have never taken part in it. It is a very dangerous time we live in and each year there are horror stories of kids getting something dangerous given out to them. I don't know why they don't just do away with it totally.

Ok, last of the Trick or Treater's are gone. Geez went to the store and the candy was so expensive for little bags so I ended up buying the variety packs of chips to pass out much, much cheaper. Also, very proud of myself the prices weren't on the bags so i didn't know how much the candy was so I asked the cashier to scan them and they were way over my budget so I said no I do not want to buy them. Usually, when there is a long line I am too embarrassed to do this and end buying stuff and go over what I had budgeted to spend,

We don't have any kids in our neighborhood and the one's we do are older,,,we keep the lights off ...we are out in the country so not many showed up so we decided to just forget it,,,

i do not celebrate the enemies holiday. The enemy had a foothold on my mind which sent me into the hospital many times in 16 years till The Lord Jesus Christ healed me in 1993.
