As a matter of fact, I have recently run into that first high school girlfriend on Facebook and we have chatted after 4 decades or more of no contact!
Maybe going along with her church youth group on a weekend retreat should count as a "first date" -- or maybe that should be reserved for the first time we went somewhere totally unchaperoned ( a drive-in movie)
loved your story note005.
first date as a little kid was with a guy named john. we actually got dressed up and went out in nyc. i think i was around 3 and since i lived in nyc at the time and ny kids go out a lot anyway (or did back then) we really did go out somewhere. i don't remember WHERE though. i know we dressed up and i know we sat at our own table. lol. we also used to play wedding and dress up all the time back then. i guess it doesn't count but i think i have a "first date" of that sort all the way through grammar school. lol.
then there are first adult dating, first teen dating...so many firsts and its alway "new" for that stage, at that time. i used to love dating.
and then on to the automatic drive,,yeah!! DD would set up barrels in the field so I could learn how to parellel park,,so I knew how to drive but hadn't taken my test yet,,,,A friend of my Mother's saw me driving downtown,,said "When did Linda get her license"? Mother said,,she doesn't have a license,,,WHAM!! I was caught,,,fun while it lasted!! LOL
Drove tractor when I was nine, Momtotwo ~ know the feeling ~ AFTER I got my license I taught my BFF to drive when we had moved to the city...she was 16... taught two others as well. NOW I no longer drive. Always enjoyed it but paralysis too unpredictable now..Was paralyzed on right side temporarily during a stroke, don't want to hurt anyone...so I took ME off the road!
