Yes, remember they use to be a nice piece of furniture sitting in your house.
Once when I was subbing a 2nd grade class, probably 17 years ago or longer, I mentioned the word record player. The childrens eyes lite up and they said WHATS A RECORD PLAYER??? Then it dawned on me the generation gap. lol

Aren't they a hand held picture viewer type of thing? I used one once long time ago? So, dad, WHAT are they?

Notdeadyet is right. It was a viewer with 2 photographs in a slide that slid back and forth to focus through lenses in the eye piece. It gave the photo 3 dimensions.
