The American Movie Channel is celebrating the anniversaries of two movies this weekend with showings of them. E.T. The Extraterrestrial is 30 years old and Saturday Night Fever is 35. Has it been that long? What do you remember about them? I never saw Fever in a theater. Being a country music disk jockey, I wasn't into disco music. The first time I saw it was on t.v. E.T. is my all time favorite movie. When it first came out, there were stories about people in the audience crying and cheering during the movie. Why would anybody care about a little ugly creature like E.T.? There was no way I would have that reaction,,or so I thought, and I went to the movie with that attitude. Boy, was I wrong! I cried when he died,,,and when he came back to life, I started to jump out of my chair, but stopped half way because I didn't want to embarrass myself. I looked around and most of the audience was in the same position as I, so when we saw each other, we all jumped up and cheered. Then, we all cried when he said good-bye to Elliot. Guess the little guy kinda grows on ya.
