Bisexual Woman Community Group
A group for bisexual woman to come, and not feel alone. Sometimes there are people who just don't get it at all. This group is for all of us to come, and feel like we are not alone, and where we can be ourselves. (: If you are here to be hateful and rude, or to cause drama you can leave right now.
Okay, I'm quite new here and I'm new to the LGBTQ+ community as well. I just want to share my story of how I discovered I was bi. BTW, I have had crushes on girls before the events of the story but I always thought they were mere girl crushes. Until now, I'm not sure of the answer.
I don't know what was it about her that I saw but I was immediately drawn to her, not romantic at first. She was my college best friend. We were very close- so close that nearly everyone in class thought that we were a couple because we were very affectionate towards each other. When I heard this I shrugged it off but for some reason I entertained this idea but I didn't give it too much thought. I don't know why I did this. Maybe I was scared that I actually wanted to be with her.
She was the best. She showed me that I can be strong and beautiful in my own way. That I can carve my own path if I choose to do so. She was smart, beautiful and nice. I couldn't believe I was her best friend.
On our sophomore year I met a guy. A seemingly sensitive and kind guy that actually danced around our relationship. We never went steady. He refused to put a label on our relationship but we did some couple stuff- we went on dates, he treated me to lunch, gave me gifts at random, walked me home everyday, etc. This persisted for 2 years and he never placed a label on our relationship nor did he ever told me whether he had feelings for me or not. We slowly grew apart but she was there to comfort me. She made me feel strong when he made me feel weak.
At this time, she was also seeing a guy. A nicer one who'd actually genuinely care about a person's feelings. I'm not gonna lie. I was quite territorial with her. I'd bicker with her bf and thought of him as annoying but we were never really overtly cold towards each other. We were on good terms. He made her open up to others and changed her for the better in ways I could never have, and for that I was grateful. I see him as a friend.
I was heartbroken when my relationship with the douchebag guy ended but she stayed. A few weeks later I realized I was over said asshole because I realized I was in love with her. I didn't know for how long had I carried these feelings though. This was the time that I thought maybe I am bisexual but I was still unsure. Maybe my feelings for her were a mere byproduct of my 'break-up', so I tried to avoid thinking about this altogether. Besides, she has a guy that loves her and could give her more than what I ever could.
A few months later, we all graduated. I mostly stayed in touch with her through chats. She now works for her bf's company. A few months after our graduation she told me that she was pregnant and was marrying him. I was happy for them- really I was. I was a little sad though but I tried to fight off my selfish feelings. I asked her if she was sure she'll marry him so suddenly and at such an early age- partly because I don't want her to make mistakes that she'll regret for the rest of her life and partly because I was selfish. This was when I realized my feelings for her were real. I really did love her more than as a friend but I was too late or maybe I never had the chance to be with her to begin with.
I'm supporting her now, through her pregnancy. They're still happy together and I'm supportive of their relationship. She wants me to be a big part in her child's life and I would honestly love this. She's still my best friend. I don't know why, its not my obligation to do so but I feel a genuine closeness to her unborn child and I would be very happy to be a part of his/her life.
This was also the time that I realized what love meant. Sometimes you just have to give the one you love the happiness that she deserves even when its not with you.
