Hi there: I check in every now and again too. I don't have much to say & therefore, have not posted either. I'm up here in Toronto, Canada and things are pretty laid back. We have legislated equal rights (adhered to most of the time) as well as marriage equality. Right now, I'm any ally with the Trans* Groups in my city as they press for "equal opportunities" in employment and gender recognition...which means having government legal documents amended to reflect how you present as opposed to what your birth certificate says.
We have a piece of Provincial Legislation which has passed a part of the process and looks to move thru rather quickly. On the other hand, the BIG Federal Equality legislation is stalled in the Senate (appointed not elected members) which have final say before it becomes law. Today our LGBT Church mounted a petition to press the cause and "civil disobedience" will be the next step; protests and demonstrations. There s a great deal of support from the public and Social media (Face Book & Twitter) Wish us luck and keep us in your prayers, please.
