Nations rise and fall

Kings, dictators, rulers come and go
– yet it lives.
Torn, condemned, burned
– yet it lives.
Hated, despised, cursed

Doubted, suspected, criticized

Damned by atheists

– as light for the heathen.
Yet it lives
– as salvation for the sinner.
Yet it lives
– as grace for the believer.
To know it is to love it.
To love it is to accept it.
To accept it means life eternal.

In THE HOLY BIBLE I think Jesus was announcing the kingdom—not just the king—as being near. He may have been talking about nearness in terms of time, not geography. "The time is fulfilled…." The time had come for God’s kingdom to be established.
Likewise,I think, when the disciples preached that the kingdom was near, they were not talking about the king, and they were not talking about a nearby territory. They were announcing that God’s kingdom would soon be there. This was good news!
When I study something as important as the central message of Jesus Christ, I try not to to make assumptions. God’s thoughts are not like our thoughts, and his ways are not like ours. We need to look to Scripture to see what Jesus revealed about the kingdom.
The Jews had various assumptions about what the Messiah would do, but Jesus did not act the way they wanted him to. Their assumptions about the king were wrong, and their assumptions about the kingdom were wrong, too.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

Wht they did not understand, is the first time He came, He provided what they NEEDED!!!
