Yeshua (Jesus) was the sacrificial Lamb, during the Passover all household lambs would be inspected and sacrificed at the Temple and then taken home for the seder.
The last lamb to be sacrificed was the one which the Temple High Priest would call out "it is done" or "it is finished"... therefore the Words uttered on the Cross "It is finished" (John 19:30) were based on the fact that when Yeshua was baptized by John the Baptist, He became the High Priest of the order of Melchizedek.
Yeshua (Jesus), had the authority to declare the last offering as High Priest and is why He gave up His Spirit, opposed to it being taken from Him, He chose when the last lamb would be offered... it was Himself.
Therefore, when considering John the Baptist's public declaration "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world" (paraphrased), then Yeshua's statement "It is Finished", it puts into perspective that Yeshua was the Perfect Sacrifice which would result in the end of the sacrificial system of the time.
The veil torn in the Temple, shows that God would now dwell in man and write His Instructions (Torah) in the heart of man. This becomes the basis of the New Covenant for whosoever accepts Yeshua as His Redeemer.

You're very welcomed, and I appreciate the blessing. Thought I'd include some of the scriptures (NIV) supporting the transition from John the Baptist's Aaronic Priesthood to Messiah's Melchizedek Priestly Order:
King David wrote in Psalm 110:4...
The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind: "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek."
The Apostle Paul elaborated in the Book of Hebrews (see chapters 5, 6, & 7)...
Hebrews 5:5-6
So Christ also did not take upon himself the glory of becoming a high priest. But God said to him,
"You are my Son; today I have become your Father. " And he says in another place, "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek."

[ Jesus Like Melchizedek ] "If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood (for on the basis of it the law was given to the people), why was there still need for another priest to comeâone in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron?"

For it is declared: "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek."
