This past week I acquired a book called "The Final Move Beyond Iraq" written by Mike Evans, a journalist with experience in Middle East issues, http://www.thefinalmovebeyondiraq.com/bio.html.
This book provides excerpts of interviews with policy makers & political figures that influence the region. My focus for this series comes from two sections in this book, the first chapter titled " A Prophetic Storm Gathers" & Appendix J an outline titled, "A 21-day Study of Iran (Persia),Iraq (Babylon), and Israel in Biblical Prophesy".
Using this outline I will post the scriptures related to the study, I tend to prefer the King James version of the Bible, but am aware that newer versions can bring an understanding of some terms used in the older text, I will try to post a link to more modern translations for comparison.
Later this past week I listened to an audio conference online by Tim LaHaye, http://www.khouse.org/6640_media_serve.php?show_id=477&show_day=monday , which mentioned the following scripture, that puts the importance of prophesy into perspective.
"Remember the former things of old,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like Me,
Declaring the end from the beginning,
And from ancient times things that are not yet done,
Saying, "My counsel shall stand,
And I will do all My pleasure,"
Isaiah 46:9-10
The presence of a modern day Hebrew Nation, the Jewish State of Israel, is one of these remarkable prophesies that are written in the Old Testament and referenced in the Gospels. A good resource is Against All Odds with journalist Michael Greenspan, http://www.againstalloddstv.com/episodes.php .

I love learning about prophesy as it refers to the Bible. Its very interesting to put a modern day face to ancient texts.

While posting day 1 of the series, it became apparent that putting the text in modern day language would be most benefitial to those going over the information, so it is posted in the New International Version with a link then to the King James Version. Some audio & video sources were found and were added to help look at the details & context of the text, as well as how it relates to other scriptures in th Bible.

Your welcome, one note I want to make here, after the scriptures in the book of Daniel I chose to use the New King James Version instead of continuing with the New International Version, because I came across some omissions in the NIV translation that made a difference in the reading of the text, so using the NKJV still gives a somewhat more modern use of language to keep the scripture in a present day understanding. Thanks for taking the time to go thru this information, it is a learning experience for me as well... God bless you!
