I found out my best friend (we are like sisters) lost her baby. She was 5 months along in pregnancy, I was to be the Godmother. She currently has 4 little girls and this child was finally a boy. She is going this afternoon to deliver the baby, and she asked me to be there. I am flattered to do this and be there for her, but how do I deal with the baby's birth and death at the same time? I want to be strong for her, and how do I do that seeing I am so emotionally atteched?

You will know what to do when the time comes. You and your friend are in my prayers.

Thank you. I did go to the hospital and was present for his birth. I will forever cherish the memory of him. He was born October 9th at 11:09 a.m. He weighed 3.6oz and was 7" long (he was a very tiny baby, 5 months gestation). The experience of his birth will never leave my memory. I am still in complete awe over this. The out-pouring of love and support was amazing. You were right ginnycat, I did know what to do at the time and it felt right. Words cannot explain my emotions at this point.

I can identify with this! It hits very close to home. The end of March my youngest daughter and her husband and their son (3yrs) went in for their 20 week sonogram all excited to see the baby and there was no heart beat. Our little Sara Haven had passed away. I held her little body and she was perfect. I held her and told her I would see her soon when I got to heaven too. I told her to dance on those streets of gold. It was just me and the nurse in this little room. The nurse had tears rolling down her face. I wanted to hug her tight and close but her little body was just to fragile to do this, so now my arms ache for my first granddaughter. They are so perfectly formed at that age of gestation, aren't they. Their little arms legs hands and feet are perfectly formed and look like miniture adults because they haven't put on the baby fat yet. I feel for your loss and understand it all to well!

Grammysdbes, I am so sorry you went through this too. And you are right, they are perfect. I couldn't get over how tiny his feet were. Smaller than a Barbie dolls. Perfectly formed hands, feet, ears, lips, everything. He was this tiny little bundle of perfection. I will never in my life forget him. Thank you for sharing your little Sara Haven with me. She also sounds absolutely amazing.

She was amazing. I'm really sorry you lost your little God-son. I can picture he and Sara playing hand in hand on those streets of gold, wading through the crystal sea and climing the trees and laughing together. And God watching them having so much fun, smiles from pure delight. He knows our lives here are just vapers compared to eternity. And for those who have a relationship with him we will join our lost children soon. All young children go to heaven because they are still innocent. I'm glad I do have a relationship with Him so I can be with my little Sara again.
