Something that keeps coming up again and again in my life... in my therapy, and as an... uncomfortable discussion with my husband... is monogamy.
While we... while we started out as such, being monogamous... I have always struggled with a deep seated fear/issue with it. It hasn't been until only recently that I've begun to recognize it myself...
I used to have night terrors of him cheating on me.. now I wonder if they weren't me being terrified of myself. Or feeling shame about what I desired.
The problem is... I feel like he and I keep coming back to this... this feeling that I want to play... be sexual... I don't even know... with other people... and he doesn't want to.
He recently agreed to let me post art and literature of an erotic nature... which is amazing. But it makes me want to join discussions, to respond to feedback and messages...
I want to play and flirt. I want attention from other people.
I've told him, in therapy, numerous times... that I'm struggling with this...
I guess.... has anyone else struggled with loving their spouse... really wanting to have the day to day LIFE with that person... but still feels so compelled to get sexual attention from other people.
I fear, and he has said as much to me... that he will never be ok with it... and that I will have to decide how important it is to me... and possibly leave.
I'm trying really hard not to make rash decisions... and we are communicating every day... being honest even when it hurts.... but it's hard.

The only suggestion I can offer is continue in therapy and continue keeping the communication open and honest with your husband. When all is said and done though, you'll have to at some time decide which is more important to you, what you're willing to give up and what path in life you'll be happiest taking.
