Sorry Cleric, it's certainly a horrible feeling. I was at a work conference in another city and though I was surrounded by people in my work field, I felt absolutely alone. Ended up locked in my hotel room every night, because I felt less lonely by myself than I did in the crowd of people in the hotel bars and reception halls. I'm a crazy, silly man, I know.
I sure hope you feel less lonely soon. It's tough to be a ghost, haunting these nearly empty boards. I think you deserve to feel better. Is there anything (hobby, diversion, trip?) you can do to make yourself feel a little less isolated?

Not really. It's been tough lately. I'm not quite sure why. I'm fine during the day when I'm surrounded by people at work, but it's superficial. Once I'm alone, I stay alone and can't break it. Truth is, I'm in bad shape.
I've been recently diagnosed with this disorder and although somewhat enlightening, it's emotionally & mentally deflating..you must find something to distract your attention to your loneliness - whether forced or fabricated - until relationships with others are established..I know how disabling it is because I'm in the same boat..You must break thru this - you're not alone!!
How stupid of me: I meant to say "..to distract your attention 'AWAY' from your lonliness"
BTW, I was also diagnosed with potential aspergers as well..
