Avascular Necrosis is simply bone death. As a AVN sufferer and nurse, this group will be to inform and support.

I had a hip replacement due to AVN and now the 3rd metacarpal phalangy (or something like that) on my left hand is collapsing. Boo. The bone doc said he could replace it but my rom will significantly decrease. Boo again. So I decided to wait until the pain is unbearable before I have surgery. I love to crochet and cross stitch and sew... I wonder how much that will be affected (effected? - always have trouble with those) after the surgery.
The other day I was using my hand to lean across the bed (all my weight on my left hand to grab something with my right hand) and it felt like the joint gave out and I face planted on the bed. Would have been funny if it didn't hurt so bad. Actually... I did laugh but it still hurt!
Anyone have a knuckle replacement?

I am not sure why it is not in the group section. At this point in time, I am simply wondering why I am not getting my notifications. Yours is the second post that I am reading which is dated from so long ago. You are not the second poster that I am extending my apology.
No, I have never heard of a knuckle replacement. I thin in the early recovery stage, your fine motor will be affected but I do not believe it will be a long term effect.
