I was just diagnosed with AIH. About two years ago I started suffering from frequent infections, extreme fatigue, very dry/itchy skin, hair loss, and other symptoms. I would develop fevers for no reason. My body would just ache and all I wanted to do was stay in bed. I have had zero energy. To make matters worse, I have a 2 year old. So back in April 2015 I had a lab test for the ANA Screen. It was positive. Then in September 2015 I had an autoimmune work up and had a positive ANA Screen, IFA. My ANA Titer was 1:160 which is very high. My Actin (Smooth Muscle) Antibody (IGG) was 83 which was very elevated. In Jan 2016 was referred to a Rheumatologist who redid all my labs and added some more. He placed me on Plaquenil to help treat my symptoms. Once again, my ANA Screen tested positive. ANA Titer remained 1:160. I again tested positive for my Actin (Smooth Muscle) Antibody (IGG) but it was slightly lower, it was 64 this time but still quite high. My doctor is thinking I have AIH due to my labs and symptoms. What is interesting though, he is ran a complete Liver Function Test and everything was in the normal range. I am not sure what that means if I have AIH. He is recommending a liver biopsy either way. I am 33 years old so quite devastated to learn I have this illness. I would love some advice/support from anyone who has AIH.
