I wonder if you know that if you have a chronic disease you can get a referral from your GP for five visits to an allied health provider at a subsidised rate?
I have recently had my first visit to a nutritionist and with the referral and the medicare rebate it cost me $7 out of pocket.
I did have to wait several weeks to get an appointment but it's been well worth it.

There is also a dental plan that can cover up to $4000 (I think) over a period of time of dental work for chronic disease. Not sure if you have to be on pension for this but can go to any participating dentist & it doesn't cost you anything then.
There is help out there often we just have to search for it & it differs in states I guess too. I know in melbourne & nsw there is also council help at low rates too & aids & equipment help & also continence aids if needed.
I have sourced a lot of different help/agencies over time & been reffered on & surprised at what is actually out there too.
If I can help anyone with ideas that may help please feel free to post to ask me. I mainly know in Vic but probably similar in other states. MS society can be a good start point too. They can refer you on to help too.
